“Great Experience at Earth Bed and Breakfast”

What a terrific experience at Earth B&B. Lori was just sensational in every possible way. I stayed there prior to and after my climbing trip up Denali. Just go and stay there...you won't be disappointed!!

Room Tip: All rooms are fine and the service is exceptional.

Lori, the owner, instantly makes you feel at home and is very supportive of your individual needs. I stayed two nights at Earth B&B prior to my Denali climb. Most of the other guests were there to do the same thing. She clearly knows the needs of here guests and goes the extra mile to help you out. If you stay here, she will use her local knowledge so that you can have a fun and economical experience.

The continental breakfasts are excellent. They contained a full complement of cereal, fresh fruit, a meat and cheese plate, fresh muffins and croissants, juice, coffee etc. Lori offered us to make fresh omlettes but we were too full to take her up on it.

The atmosphere at Earth B&B is friendly and laid back. The location is outstanding and a short 10 minute walk to some great Anchorage restaurants (Humpys for example). The rooms differ in size but all are clean and cozy.

I highly recommend this place and would stay here on my future trips to Anchorage.

Whilst on our travels around Alaska, my friend and her mum prior to leaving Australia arranged to stay two nights here. Firstly, what an amazing place!! From the moment we set foot into this AMAZING B&B we were treated like part of Lori's family. Lori, made us feel at home not only with her warm & comforting smiles and giving attitude but also with their interior architecture. The bedrooms we shared were lovely with a walk in bathroom. Breakfast each morning was lovely, with a range of choices ranging from eggs, muffins, toast, croissant, crumpets, fruits, cereals it was easy to leave for your daily activities on a full stomach. In terms of location, its easily accessible to a supermarket (fairly new) literally a block and a half away. You're close to public transport to head downtown or wherever you want to head too. For a day you can hire bikes from Lori. You can take the 'Toni Knowles Coastal Bicycle Trail which takes you all the way Kincaid Park. It's a LONG trail which may take two hours each way depending on the speed your going at. I would recommend this place to stay at to anyone. I definitely plan on heading back again in the very near future!!

Room Tip: Corner suites are large and can handle up to three people. One double and one single bed. Lovely dec...

My husband and I were looking for a reasonable yet also comfortable place to stay in Anchorage so we opted for a B&B, as hotel rates seem to be too high for the hotel quality you get. We decided to stay at the Earth B&B and are very happy with our choice! There was an excellent breakfast provided - homemade coffee cake, lots of fruit, cereal, breads, yogurt, coffee and tea. Our room was cozy, quiet, and our bed was really comfortable. I'm pretty picky when it comes to comfortable beds too! We shared a bathroom, but didn't have any problems with accessibility or water temperature. Overall, we felt our money was well spent and will most definitely stay at the Earth B&B again when we come back to Alaska.

Prior to arriving we thought we had made arrangements with Lori for a transfer to Whittier but were surprised to find out a couple days before arriving that the price had increased 66%(we would be the only passengers). We did organise alternate transport that worked to our advantage, so all ended well. However, internet communications re booking were very good. Anyhow we arrived (stayed 2 nights in late August 2011)and let ourselves in to see the sign that said it is Alaskan tradition to remove your shoes- not a very warm welcome given no other Alaska accommodation place we stayed in had this request. We stayed in the Saint Elias room upstairs. The room is dim with poor lighting, poor block out curtains (given an outside light stayed on all night), luggage space is restricted. There was a good bathroom with supply of toiletries, computer access is $2 but this was waivered, an excellent range and selection for breakfast, Rhonda allowed spin dry washing machine access, which was greatly appreciated, the dogs are well behaved and friendly, the location is just 3 minutes to a grocery store and an easy flat 15 minute walk to downtown, also just off the main road and quiet yet convenient for cab access if required.
Overall, quite adequate with the location and breakfast being the highlights and the negative being the lack of a personal approach, apart from breakfast (Lori was always busy with work or out) that often makes a B&B.

We stayed at Earth B&B on two night separated by a trip to Denali. As far as sleep accommodations went both nights were fine. We had different rooms (one up, one down) and both were nicely decorated and comfortable for a night's sleep. The big difference was in the breakfasts. The first morning Lori was there and she made awesome banana bread, had a nice array of fresh fruit, juices, coffee, etc. and then custom made eggs for each guest. The second morning Lori wasn't there and we had a full complement of fresh fruit and juices and coffee and then store bought muffins, etc. We were supposed to get a ride from Rhonda to the train station the second stay and when she couldn't find her keys she called and paid for a cab to get us there. A very nice gesture.

I stayed at the Earth B&b for five nights in August of this year. I cannot say enough about the friendly and helpful treatment that I received from Rhonda and Lorri. The breakfasts were good, a bountiful supply of everything plus all that extra friendliness and help.

I have trouble walking distances but they are close enough to downtown that I walked every evening.

I will be returning to Anchorage and there is only one place to stay. The EARTH B&B
