We stayed at this hotel a total of 4 nights - the rooms were very clean and comfortable; We felt very welcomed from all staff from the moment we checked in until we checked out. This hotel has an amazing view of Anchorage and the mountains and is easily accessible to various restrauants and activies in the area. Be sure to check Bruins Bar/ restrauant when at this hotel

This Hilton actually has two towers, the West Tower (where I stayed) and the Anchorage Tower. While the West Tower room that I had was not that dated, it was certainly not an up-to-date modern Hilton. The room I had featured an older CRT TV and the carpet was frayed on the edges.

The elevators in the West Tower are another dated aspect of the hotel. All three elevators in the West Tower need to be updated. One elevator cannot identify floors correctly on the information screen (it reads 12 when it is actually on floor 11). Another elevator "jerks" occasionally when stopping (the elevator floor isn't level to the building floor so when the doors are open, it "jerks" to realign the elevator floor). The last elevator has occasional trouble closing doors (it opens and closes about 4-5 times before finally shutting). Hopefully the hotel can modernize these elevators before something worse starts happening.

How can a place be so expensive and not give free internet??? Heck...they do that at like Comfort Inn and Best Western!!! Seriously...and the prices for drinks?? Even being AK. There is no relief from train noise....awful. Also, there is a club across street. Noise through night. They have to get some kind of ordinance and this place should push it for what they are charging. I travel pretty often and this was the worst night of sleep I have had this year so far...I should say LACK of sleep. I do have to say front desk was VERY accomodating in trying to make up for things. Here is a key...I know money is tight but when you know a guest is going to be in a room...TURN ON THE AIR a bit for them before they arrive when it is hot. Every time I stay in a HILTON there is something I just don't understand...how they don't get it. Never understand the terrific reputation.

We stayed at this hotel 2 nights prior to our Alaska cruise. We booked through our cruise line so obviously paid a premium. Hotel was very disappointing. Rooms were small and very dated and beds were horrible. Not sure if there is a better hotel in Alaska but this hotel is not worth the money they charge.

On a positive note, it is very centrally located and all the staff we met were wonderful!
Also, if you want a great casual meal don't miss "Humpy's".....a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

We were apprehensive about staying here because of some of the reviews. It’s true that a shuttle to and from the train is needed. It’s true that the place, while not shabby, is dated. And the no free wi-fi is annoying, but not limited to this hotel.

However, the staff was absolutely the most accommodating and friendly group we’d ever worked with. Without asking, we were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a Junior Suite which was lovely. The rooms were clean. The front desk was very committed to helping us resolve a booking problem, and comped our friends which they had to deal with a noisy party in a suite over their heads. The breakfast buffet was nice, and half the price of most Hiltons. It is conveniently located to shops, restaurants and the Saturday market. We would not hesitate to recommend this property.

Room Tip: Hilton Honors club multi-day stay
