I keep coming back to the Hilton in Anchorge because of the quality and service. It's a bonus that it is in Downtown, close to great shops and restaurants as well as the Tony Knowles Trail for biking/jogging. Can't go wrong here.

This hotel has been in down-town Anchorage forever. 40 years ago it was the IN-PLACE for all the international flight crews to hang out.
BUT, nothing much has been done to keep the place looking fresh. The carpeting in the hallways have an old stale smell. The chairs and other furniture in the meeting rooms and bedrooms are all pretty worn out.
The restaurant has overpriced food which is substandard. Plus you will have to waiting forever to get lunch. In fact some people had to leave before they were ever served because our lunch period was only an hour long.
And never take a smoking room from this hotel.... even if you smoke..... They smell like an old wet ashtray.

This hotel looks and feels like it's really old. Not good antique old but worn out old school old. Room is very small. We were told we had been upgraded to the Alaska wing which made me scared of what we would have been in. Does it's job for a place to stay but not the Hilton quality I expected.
Bed is okay comfortable. Our room was cold and the heater wasn't working properly.
When we called front desk we had a maintenance person here within 10 min. They fixed it easily.
Staff has been very friendly.
We were very excited to hit the hot tub. (Hotels.com said they had) well turns out it was taken out about a year ago. BOO!!
It works for a place to stay but don't expect it to be very nice. Just so so.

I have stayed at the Hilton Anchorage many times for business, and in all possible room combinations. Each time is extremely disappointing! This hotel could not be located in a noisier location in town. Between the constant noise from the train horns at train depot 1/4 mile away, loud diesel rigs and vehicle noise below the Anchorage Tower and West Tower even numbered rooms at the busy intersection where the hotel entrance is, loud drunks clamoring around at the Wood Shed bar directly opposite all even numbered rooms in the West Tower, an adjacent rooftop of loud air conditioning fans facing all odd numbered rooms in the West Tower, and worn out to zero weatherstripping around the non-insulating windows, this hotel is horrible for trying to sleep! You will also have no problem hearing all of your neighbors movements through the paper thin walls. The rooms also show wear and tear and reak of air freshener while in a desperate need of an update. Furthermore, temperature control is extremely difficult. The Anchorage Tower uses a combination of baseboard heaters and the typical fan that cycles between the two. Too hot or no heat at all. Take your pick! On a positive note, the location is good and the hotel has an excellent gym. But for me, this is one of the worst Hiltons in the system. Do yourself a favor and go to the Marriott or Captain Cook!

Room Tip: Quietest rooms will be the highest floor odd numbered rooms in the West Tower, with the higher the n...

Typical of large downtown hotels. $19 breakfast. $12.95 internet. $4.00
Coffee. $24 parking. Nice place but the model the hotel industry is using is different these days.

Good service with good staff but not that good.

Bathroom small which no longer the norm in most hotels.
