We had read the reviews and hoped this would be a nice place, but were blown away by how much we liked it. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This hotel is quite new and it shows. Well-designed large rooms feature an efficient layout and are furnished with beautiful bed(s), large desk, office chair, pull-out sofa, very large bureau with drawers, and flat-screen TV on a stand with more storage space. Rooms also has a walk-in closet, and split bath (shower & sink with large counter in one room, toilet and sink with small counter in a separate area). There is an alcove with frig & coffee maker. Rooms are spacious and decorated in a soothing, cool palette. Lots of extra blankets and pillows in the closet. You can set the room temperature yourself. Everything is in great shape - very clean, most of it still seems brand new.
Property features a terrific outdoor patio with gas fire pit, lovely flowers, tables/chairs, and a wide trail leading to the nearby lake. The rooms facing east have an amazing lake/mountain view.
There is a nice-sized indoor pool & well-equipped exercise room.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is included with the room price. Along with do-it-yourself waffles, they had eggs & sausage, plus the usual muffins/pastries, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereals, and hot oatmeal (real oatmeal!). Three kinds of coffee: regular, decaf, and dark roast.
We really enjoyed our stay and can think of no criticisms at all.

My husband & I stayed here 1 night after a late flight into Anchorage. We always try to stay at SpringHill Suites as they are always nice and this one did not disappoint. The hotel clerk was very friendly. The room was modern, clean and quiet. The bed was so comfy which was what we needed after a long flight and not getting to bed until 3:00 AM. A lot of breakfast items to choose from and they kept the area restocked. They had a fire pit outside, a pool inside, and a small exercise room to use. The hotel is not near any restaurants to walk to so you do need a car. We opt to stay our last two nights of our vacation at the Spring Hill Suites in mid town because of returning our car early but we wish we would of spent them here instead.

The rooms were spotless and comfortable, it seemed brand new. The amenities were excellent and the service was superb. Have stayed there twice and will again any time I am in Anchorage. The staff were excellent, so helpful. Left a sport coat there and it was there when I got back 3 days later and the staff had it cleaned for me. You cannot beat service like that. The price for Anchorage was great.

We stayed here for one night after a cruise. We made a day trip to Denali the same day, which did not give us much time to enjoy the amenities of the hotel. Very nice facility... Even has a "mini" museum in the lobby. Rooms are spacious and nicely designed.

Only down side was service. The staff and front desk were less than inviting.

This hotel is very clean and new. The rooms are very spacious, and although we didn't have a view of the lake, we were very comfortable, as we left for the day shortly after breakfast and returned after dinner. There is a separate sitting area with a desk and Wi-Fi,a room with just a toilet and sink, the bed area, and the bathroom with shower and vanity. We had just finished 5 days travelling in Alaska and spent 3 nights here before boarding our cruise ship. The laundry facilities came in real handy after 5 days. Although the hotel is not centrally located in the downtown area, we had a rental car and had no problem getting around town, even to the airport, in 15 minutes or less.
We also thought the staff was very friendly and helpful...and also treated us to a candy bar!
The breakfast had everything to offer from scrambled eggs, sausage, and waffles to cold cereal, pastries and yogurt.
If we ever returned to the Anchorage area, we would definitely stay here.

We stayed in this hotel for one night in June. The hotel is right next to the lake, and from our room we can see the lake and snow mountains. The room is new and pleasant. Breakfast is nice as well.

My husband and I stayed for one night at the Spring Hill Suites at University Lake after a late flight into Anchorage. This was the perfect choice. The hotel staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was about a 10 minute drive from the airport. It was close by, but not right at the airport. The hotel rooms were new, clean, and modern with updated features such as an I Pod dock on the bedside table. We were pleasantly surprised by their breakfast spread, which included assorted cereals, bagels, English muffins, donuts, pastries, warm biscuits with gravy, scrambled eggs with cheese, and even a “make your own waffle” station. I highly recommend the Spring Hill Suites at University Lake if you will be staying over in the Anchorage area.
