We stayed at this hotel 4 nights, one night as we arrived at 2:00am from a LONG day of travel and 3 nights on the backside of our trip. It was a great experience both times. The rooms are clean, spacious, with 2 queens and a pullout sofa. Beds were comfy. The bathrooms were nice in that the toilet had a separate room with sink, and the shower had a separate room with sink...this made it more convenient for a family of five. The breakfast was excellent with a lot of selection and the breakfast area was spacious. There was outdoor seating, too. Upon check in, they give you Hershey chocolate bars! There is a very nice walk right outside the hotel. We saw beavers swimming in the pond! The hotel convenient enough to town/airport, though it is not super close. I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: The lake side rooms have a lovely view

This hotel is clean and fairly new. The suites are pleasantly furnished, and the shower room was magnificently spacious. The bed was comfortable, but other parts of the room design left a little to be desired. Most notably, there can be a lot of hallway noise from other guests entering their rooms because of the architects' placement of the doors in clusters, and the internal acoustics within the rooms magnifying rather than dampening the door noise. Other minor design issues were that there was limited lighting around the bed, and the temperature was quite variable during the night (this was a winter stay.)

The hotel is conveniently situated for access to Anchorage's University and hospital district. This part of town is experiencing a development boom, but has pleasant wooded areas, including a lake and trail close to the hotel. (FYI, for those who may be looking for proximity to shopping, or to the downtown where there are more dramatic views of the mountains and Cook Inlet, this location would not meet that expectation.)

Last but not least, the staff was pleasant and helpful, and the property has a friendly atmosphere.

Dear Tlevaksilver,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay back in February with us. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to you due to noise or temperature control issues. In the winter, we have a little more flexibility to move rooms if need be to try and get a quieter section of the hotel for you. Additionally, I agree we are a little out of the way from most restaurants and shopping, but we also provide downtown transportation complimentary to accomodate for this.

I hope the next time you're in town, you'll choose to stay with us again and give us a second chance. Thank you again for your feedback and I hope to see you soon!

Respectfully,

We fly in close to midnight to Anchorage, and shuttle service to the hotel was prompt in picking us up. Upon check-in the front desk informed us that they also provide shuttle service to the downtown Marriott hotel, which is the pick-up location for our pre-cruise train ride from Anchorage to Seward. The next morning we enjoyed a nice 1.5 mile walk around the small lake behind the property prior to the free breakfast. Standard Springhill Suites breakfast fare, and the food was plentiful/refilled constantly. The June morning was beautiful, so we enjoyed the breakfast outside the breakfast area. The shuttle service was waiting for us at the appointed time to take us to the downtown Marriott for the next leg of travel.

This hotel is in a great location if you have business at the University or visiting Providence. There was some mix up with my reservations, but the front desk cleared that up and was able to secure rooms for me. There is a complementary breakfast, the standard hotel breakfast, but it is free so take advantage of that if you are pinching pennies. There is a pool available, but I did not use it. The rooms have a modern decor and the showers are very large and spacious. Free WiFi is in all the rooms.

So, my husband and I are sitting at Anchorage airport and will be here for about the next 50 minutes. Why? Well, we followed directions told to us by the hotel, and didn't call until we received our bags. When we called for the pickup that was supposed to be 20-25 minutes, we were told it would be much longer. After abut 10 hours time and feeling like it is 1 a.m. our time at home, it would have been nice if the time frame we were given when we reserved here would have been accurate!
I certainly hope everything else about the hotel will be great, because this isn't an auspicious beginning!

Dear denisec65,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your arrival experience with our hotel. Please accept my deepest apologies for the inconvenience caused by having to wait longer than the 20 minute timeframe it normally takes to get from the hotel to the airport. The reason it took so long to pick your family up is because when you made the call, the driver was currently on his way back to the hotel from the airport. He needed to drop off his current guest and then turn around to pick you up. I completely understand your frustration and I will share your comments with my team to ensure that we are quoting the proper pickup times to avoid this happening in the future.

I hope you're enjoying the rest of your stay with us. If there is anything that I may do to make you more comfortable, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Very Respectfully,

Nothing in Anchorage is too far from everything, and we found the SpringHill Suites in Anchorage an easy drive to downtown, to the airport, and a great jumping off place for day trips to Denali, Wasilla, Palmer, etc. Our room was near the elevator, but so quiet we never heard a thing. We overlooked the small lake and walking trail, full of people from all nations, and students walking (running) their dogs. We had a sitting area with a couch, small microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, etc, and a desk area, as well as a sleeping area, a closet, and a separate area for toilet and tiny sink, apart from the bathing area with a more normal size sink and hair dryer, etc.

Big breakfast, eggs, ham or sausage or bacon, all kinds of breakfast cereals, fruits, toppings and breakfast rolls. Very popular hotel, very professional staff.

Room Tip: The upper floor is most quiet; try to face the mountains - it is stunning.

A nice location with the lake and trail/dog trail. Great stop for a first night on vacation. Just a Jew minutes from shopping and from down town. It is a little ways from the anchorage airport, but worth it. Ask for a room with a lake view on an upper floor. This will let you not only see the lake, but also the chugach mountains.
