“So wonderful friendly tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

Mom and I were lucky enough to land a seat on the Glacier and Wildlife Explorer Tour last minute. We were so glad we did! The mix of glacier cruise, Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center and photo opps along Seward highway was perfect. We had been on a lot of Alaska tours this month but This one was one of the best. Ben made it feel like we were out with friends. He looked after mom with her bad knee, making it easy for her to enjoy the sights without feeling like she was holding the group back. He also made multiple photo opp stops that felt like an insiders look at Alaska. I would definitely recommend this tour.

“Nice sights to see, but poor tour guide!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

It is a nice 5-6 hours activity and wonderful sights to see. The only thing we did not like about the tour was our tour guide, Ben. He did not seem like enjoying what he is doing. He was not informative and does not even care about telling people what he is going to do next. At one point, he just told everybody in the tour that we will take a 7 minutes walk, but we ended up with a 30-40 minute hike, one of us trying to walk with a horrible back pain! Most of the people in the tour did not even now what they will be seeing at the end of the walk. I am glad that another guy was guiding us for portage glacier part and he did an excellent job!

To Ben: Please try to inform your guests about the sights as much as possible.

Hi I am so sorry that you feel that way. I do try to go the extra mile when time allows. That is why I offered the Byron Glacier walk which was an extra last minute add on because the group seemed fit and able. Before we took off for the short walk I did inform the group that most people could make the roundtrip walk which was rather flat and not strenuous at the most would be 20 minutes’ walk to the face and 20 minutes back. The person you were talking about was adamant that he could make it. I did offer to head back when he appeared strained and he stated that he really was ok. We did get within 5 minutes to the face and I did stay with him while the group continued on at which point since we had seen all that there was to see I encouraged him to turn around and head back. On the way back we talked about the zip line tour he was going to take while on his cruise. He is a guy that seemed not to let his back handicap stand in his way of experiencing life.

The rest of the group stated they had a great time and that this walk was extra special since they got to play on the snow at the base of the glacier and sit at the bench that allows walkers to view the glacier in all its splendid beauty. Again, this part of the tour was extra and at no additional charge. When I have visitors I like to show all that the area has to see and treat them to extra when time allows.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014 via mobile

Thank you, Ben. We had a delightful day.

Ben is knowledgeable of the area, provided a great narration along the drive, went above and beyond to make sure our day was memorable.

Any one of us would book another excursion with your company. Thank you for creating such great memories.

“Wonderful experience!”

We made the reservation for the tour just a couple of days ago. Ben is the owner/operator and he was wonderful - full of interesting information and determined to show us as many sights as possible to ensure that we had a great time. Personable and relaxed, he was attentive to our requests, for example turned around so that we could take photos of Dall sheep and other sights. I recommend this company, great value for money and you are treated as family members. It was great being in a small group (6) rather than a tour bus. We loved meeting Wicked Wanda at Chilkoot Charlie's - what a lot of unexpected fun!!!

“Check that off the bucket list!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Did the Crown Princess - Seattle to Whittier. Wow. Princess Cruises was pretty darn good. Not a cruiser and not wanting to do another (Except maybe a Euro River trip) but I was more impressed than I expected. Food was okay - ate mostly up in the buffet area (needed VEGETABLES!) - hit a couple wine tastings and enjoyed several excursions. Had a great room - with a balcony. Wasn't that much extra and worth the price - but it was early in the season. This was a wonderful cruise and the Crown Princess is a beautifully appointed boat. The help was very friendly and efficient. Guess the only downside was on board activities - mostly centered around SHOPPING! Bags were always picked up and quietly, just amazingly well organized really. The logistics of it all was amazing and carried off nicely. The cruise up glacier bay was amazing - the Crown can turn on a DIME! They handled the off boat excursions, rail trips and hotels. Overall very nice and well worth the trip.
