The hotel is in the middle of popular things to do, downtown, has great views, close to a Starbucks. I like to begin my day with a walk and this one has plenty of amusement. One nice surprise? The young man who serves as chef I believe his name is Chris, cooked me a fan-tas-tic Parmesan crusted Halibut. Little asparagus on the side. Next trip to Anchorage I'm coming back to this Marriott.

Stayed here for a week on business, Lovely big room overlooking the bay. Beds are so comfortable and the room was nicely decorated! Over prices internet charges , good location for visiting the excellent restaurants within walking distance. I had room service a few times , once it was horrendous , ordered the halibut which was very expensive and not good! So after that I just went with a Cobb salad which was gorgeous and less expensive . However if you are on vactation and not working , go to the fantastic restaurants downtown. Had breakfast in the hotel most days ,Staff here are wonderful , I had the cold buffet which is fine as I normally had just fresh fruit and yoghurts .

I went to the Snow city cafe one day for breakfast which was the best ever breakfast anywhere in the world!

The staff at the Marriott are friendly and helpful. The bar is nice but I didnt eat in the bar. The Gym is good , However the pool area is not that inviting .

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Bay

There is no hotel connected to the convention center in Anchorage. This is the closest (2 blocks) with reasonable service, dining, 20 stories, small lobby, friendly staff. Other options were further walking distance to convention center. Did not want to chance walking in bad weather in downtown.

Room Tip: Get a high floor for the view over Cook Inlet.

The room was really nice. Good beds, good view. No airport shuttle, though. Overpriced food in their bar, even for Alaska. When you try to connect to their wireless, they want $12.95. Really? Every fast food joint around offers it for free.
If you're looking for a place with a nice room and don't care about things beyond a good night's sleep, this place should be OK for you.

Hotel is in the middle of downtown and within walking distance of indoor mall and Anchorage Museum. The restaurant at the hotel was not the best. Specials posted on the blackboard outside of the restaurant were not available when we visited. The ladies that work the reservation desk were extremely helpful but did not always know the answers to our questions.
