As an avid skier and from Michigan this little 300 foothill would be the best in our Grand Rapids area they even have big ski jumps which would be something for my grandsons to learn

We have scheduled trip to Anchorage Alaska over Christmas holidays. Our friends got suggested Hilltop Ski Area and Alyeska. So we decided to try out Hilltop. We met the manager and owner Rick. He have told us brief history of this little hill and also future of his investments. I'm hoping that he will get green ligt for expansion from the state and city. It is cute little ski resort

This is a great slope to start on, but you outgrow the hill eventually. There hasn't been a whole lot of snow there latley, and there are only a few runs open. It's still fun to go and it's more convenient than driving to Alyeska on weekdays.

Great place to learn how to ski since it's not usually really crowded. The small hill is a little icier than other spots you can go but it's a nice height and offers good deals for rentals and a small lodge to warm up in.

Beautiful when it's snowy or in the summer. Good place for a beginner to learn to ski or if you just want to spend a few hours snow boarding

Not a fancy one, but this will serve you right if you want to ski/snowboard.
Small chalet & parking area, be there early..otherwise difficult to get a parking spot & seating spot in the chalet.
Not so many trails to try, but I like the huge half pipe they have there.

so I do not ski or board often . But I know it was like skiing on ice . Staff was nice. Very short mild grade run. Great if you live in town .

This ski area is located on the immediate outskirts of Anchorage. It is an easy to moderately easy ski hill. They have one chairlift with services three or four runs on the hill. It’s a great place to learn to ski or ski with someone who is learning to ski. The staff in the lodge and the lift ops were friendly and helpful. While we were there the crowds were low but I think it can get busy in the evenings as many of the school kids go to the hill after school to ski. It is well lit for night skiing. Anchorage is lucky to have such a nice place to ski right in town.

Hilltops biggest strength is its location right in Anchorage, its facilites are pretty good too. But it is to damn flat, and short especially for snow boarding. Here in Alaska we have the best mountains in the world, so this place does not dazzle.

It is great fun for all ages. And it is right there so the travel time in minor. If you are a great skier it is not for you but if you want to get outside for a while it is perfect.
