“Worth the stop”
Reviewed 4 March 2014 via mobile

As a law enforcement officer definitely worth the stop. Run by the fraternal order of Alaska state troopers, they have a great collection of uniforms, equipment, memorabilia and historical materials. If you collect patches you can get them here. Nice selection of souvenirs.

“Appeals to all ages”
Reviewed 21 January 2014

This small museum is located in a store front on 5th Ave under a City parking garage. You have to look for it but it is well worth the effort. Young and old alike will find something interesting here. There is no free parking in the area and you don't want to waste time looking for a meter spot so just bite the bit and pay to park in the garage. You can also go over to the 5th Ave Mall (with its food court and Sullivan's Steakhouse) to eat afterwards.
The museum is literally crammed with exhibits and information and the docents were delightful. It is an aspect of Alaska history that is not often recognized. There is no admission charge but they do accept donations. Definately NOT a miniature Spy Museum but rather a look at Alaska Law enforcement history.Call first to check hours especially during "not prime time" or off-season days.

“Historical. Informative. Fun. Free!”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

It was nice to visit this small museum that makes the most of its space. From watching episodes of Alaska's Highway Patrol to viewing vintage uniforms and pictures, this was time well spent. You could spend a day exploring everything contained here, but my husband and I spent about an hour and had a great time. Free. We would visit again.

“Nice Little Police Museum”
Reviewed 17 September 2013

This museum is located in the heart of the tourist area in downtown Anchorage. It is fairly small, but packed with law enforcement history from the last frontier. Great photos of Alaska State Troopers from the past and the crown jewel of the museum is a restrored Hudson patrol car. The museum is free and well worth your time.
