It was nice to read that you found our hotel clean & comfortable during your week stay in Anchorage. Glad to hear you enjoyed the Ptarmigan Bar as well.

We stayed at the Sheraton Anchorage for 2 nights, and we enjoyed the staff, service and accommodations. We stayed in a room on the Club Level and found the rooms very clean, nicely decorated and spacious -- no complaints. We were also pleased that the Club Level lounge was open during the weekend (not always the case at all Sheratons) and served a continental breakfast from 6:00 - 9:00 a.m. and heavy snacks from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. along with complimentary sodas, juices, bottled water, coffee, newspapers, computer with Internet, etc. -- and the views from the club lounge towards the water and mountains are wonderful!
As others have noted, the hotel is just at the edge of downtown; however, we walked into the center of town many times and had no problems (5 minute walk). For those without a car, a cab from the airport costs about $20 and takes approximately 20 minutes.
Overall, we had a terrific experience at the Sheraton Anchorage, and we recommend it.

Have a great rest of the summer.
This is a typical Sheraton Hotel. nice lobby, nice staff, bar, restaurant, and comfortable rooms. We stay on the club floor which was pretty basic. Ok breakfast and evening wine bar. Why can't these big chain hotels figure out INTERNET SHOULD BE FREE ! They charge $9.95 per day. We would much rather have that added to the rate instead of taking the slap in the face and pay additional charges like this. Whatever is going on with Sheraton Hotels it is our observation that the decreasing tide is lowering all facilities. We have noticed this over and over when we stay at " The Sheraton" remember when it was called that ? Now it's just " A Sheraton Hotel" to us. A bit costly for average rooms. The Anchorage Sheraton is no exception, just average.
Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for posting a review on TripAdvisor. I am so glad to know that you enjoyed most facets of your visit with us. We are all very proud of our hotel and are happy that you found our hotel nice, our rooms comfortable and our associates nice.
I am sorry that you were unahappy with the charge for the internet. I can promise you that we are currently exploring ways to be able to offer complimentary HSIA for all of our guests. This is a hot topic in our industry right now & I will be sure to share your comments with our management and ownership representatives.
We appreciate your feedback. By hearing how we can do better, we can begin to take steps to becoming better.
We look forward to serving as your hosts again the next time you are in Anchorage.

For Anc...this is probably one of the nicer hotels. The location is great. The hotel actually provides a free shuttle if it's close enough - pretty much anythign right down town. The rooms are nice..and beds are super comfy.
One recent change that was annoying was the added price for parking. It used to be free for SPG members...and now they've gone to charging.
Otherwise i woulda given them all 5 stars.
the ICE SPA is a must! great services...and the best view ever for where you go to lounge...it's amazign up there!
Will return again.
Thanks for choosing to stay with us and for posting a review on TripAdvisor. We are grateful for your continued patronage and loyalty & very pleased to read that you enjoyed your most recent visit with us.
I absolutely agree about the Ice Spa being a "must" and that the views are stuning.
Regarding the parking charge - I will look into that to see if/why the procedure changed. If the charge doesn't make sense for SPG guests I will see about fixing that.
We look forward to serving as your hosts during your next visit to Anchorage.
Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Just came back from a trip to Alaska where we stayed two nights at this hotel. The first night was before taking the train to Denali and we returned for an additional night the day before our cruise . The rooms are spacious and clean, the beds extremly comfortable. Customer service is excellent. The room assigned to us the 2nd night wasn't cooling properly and they promptly and with no hassle changed us to another room. Breakfast is plentiful(it was included in our rate). The hotel is barely in downtown , in an area that's not very attractive. However for a short stay is more than adequate. We were able to leave our big suitcases in storage with them while we toured Denali, that was a big help.
