This was an awesome experience. We had a night in Anchorage and then headed down to Whittier for our cruise. My husband booked this train ride and we were all so amazed. I would highly recommend this experience!!

Boarded in Anchorage and greeted with very warm welcome by train staff. Commentary throughout is excellent and scenery is just fabulous. Breakfast on board was 5 star with loads of choice. Just amazing.

Clear glass topped carriages with excellent views due to the height above the surrounding land. Commentary became a little tedious from a student in a vacation job, but a relaxing way to travel.

We took the train from Anchorage to Denali. Lunch cost us $86 with one drink each for a sandwich and a cup of soup. However, the views are great and the staff are superior. Whitney was our tour guide and she told some really 'punny' jokes and kept us entertained for the entire ride. Ty was a great bartender as well! He makes a mean bloody Mary. The food in the dining car is OK - just expect to pay for the experience. I'm glad we did it. The ride was several hours but the experience is worth it and the train is very comfortable.
