Let's begin by saying that Fontaine de Vaucluse is one of the stunning places that we've visited in Provence. So, this hotel should have make a great job to compromise this feeling. But on the contrary.
We've arrived late at night after a long drive. The village was quiet as a tomb. The GPS navigated us to the hotel after we picked it up with the Tripadvisor App. The reception and the lobby are warmly decorated and the clerk (Black hair, black eyes, black shirt and pants and a low voice :-) ) offered us a standard room for 125 Euros per night and showed us the room.
This hotel well deserves its 4-star. The spacious room is decorated with amenities and decor from the life of poets and musicians, the bed is huge and comfortable and the shower & toilet are spotless. When opening the window you can hear the sound of the spring stream that flows beneath the hotel and through the beautiful garden at the back.
We didn't go to breakfast (17 Euro Each) and had some breakfast at the boulangerie in the village.
Bottom line: a gem at a decent price.

I had a wonderful experience staying at Hotel Du Poete for 4 days with my friends.
The hotel grounds is so vast and beautiful, it felt like we were staying in a retreat.
The rooms (Superior Double Room Melodie) were spacious and clean. I'm usually a light sleeper but I would fall asleep like a baby especially when listening to the soothing sounds of the water flowing outside from the River Sourge. The hotel is within walking distance to the town centre so it was very conveniently located to all the shops and restaurants. We loved Fontaine Du Vaucluse, such a picturesque place. If we were visiting Aix-En-Provence or Avingon, we would always look forward to returning to Hotel Du Poete and relaxing in the outdoor jacuzzi while admiring the stunning views. If you decide to visit Fontaine Du Vaucluse, I would make this hotel your first option! It's a perfect base for discovering this beautiful village and surrounding areas.

We chose this place based on reviews and the fact that most placed were already booked as we planned our trip late. This place is amazing. I would say in terms of quality it is above 3 stars, closer to 4. We had a melodie room. It overlooked the river, was very well appointed and extremely clean and comfortable. The test of the hotel was wonderful - charming common area, full bar with great wines and fairy tale like outside area. Highly highly recommended. We look forward to coming back.

Many of the " beautiful villages " are so full of tourists and overpriced and unoriginal that their beauty is worn out---this one is still a beauty. It feels like you are sitting in a beautiful French chambre at the base of the Yosemite valley. The walks are lovely, the people are friendly, end the food is delicious--we had a vin rose from the cotes de Vendeux and it was so refreshing. The whole experience is refreshing to the soul.

Room Tip: There is an excellent elevator. Parking is easy.

Lots of water flowing close to the hotel, nice pool, direct access to the centre of the small village ...it is a pity that they do not serve evening meals but the breakfast was excellent.

The rooms are really nice with themed décor and everything spotlessly clean

Room Tip: I think they are all nice

My wife and myself spent six nights in this lovely hotel. This was the start of a longer walking holiday. We really enjoyed the hotel and were made very welcome at the outset. The room was well maintained and spotless, well cleaned each day during the time we were at breakfast. Our room looked over the back to the restaurant terrace, swimming pool and the various streams and over to the dramatic ridge surrounding the village. Breakfast was a treat each day. It was buffet service with loads of choices of fruit, cheese and ham which was handy to carve yourself. All the food was lovingly prepared and the breads were varied and good. The waitress served fresh orange juice and coffee and although our French is pretty well nil she gave us the opportunity to progress each morning - breakfast was a real pleasure. We used to have our breakfast inside then sit out near the river for our coffee .... Bliss watching the trout keeping position in the crystal clear waters. Water flowed everywhere around and under this hotel so be prepared to be well charged up with the energy coming straight from the source a km or so away. The hotel also had a pool which was equally crystal clear and well maintained with plenty of sunshine if you wanted it. A short walk out of the back of the hotel took you into the village where there was a range of restaurants to suit most people - some nice ice cream!! My wife's walking boots started to shed a sole which was kindly stuck back on by the very friendly bar waiter who was always there to assist. It was nice to sit out the back with Pastis or G&T in the evening, take in the sounds, read a book and watch the fish. All in all a great experience with lots of places to visit within easy driving distance and a couple of local walks well worth doing.

The hotel was very clean, cosy and the people are friendly and informative at the desk. The breakfast was delicious so my wife and me took that every morning. Tip: ask for the apricot juice as it's really delicious and from a local source.

We didn't go into the pool as our trip was only 3 full days at the hotel and we wanted to see as much as possible of the area but it looked very clean and nice.

If you want to see lavender then go before mid August. Our travel agent in Belgium told us there would be lavender everywhere but in reality it turned out to be that all was already cut so my wife was pretty disappointed on that part. We made it up though by going to the lavender museum which is close to the hotel (~8km).

We for sure will come back to this hotel again in the future and recommend it to family and friends.

Room Tip: We took the superior room. Not that it held something superior so I guess it was just a bit bigger t...
