“A Bridge too far....up!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

Wow, this thing is huge. They tell you that at the visitor's center, but until you actually see it and stand on it and get vertigo, you have no idea.

Driving it is NOT enough. Park and walk up.

“Wonderful views”

The bridge is free and is only a short walk uphill from the car park. It offers fantastic views of Hoover Dam and the Colorado River 880ft below.

“Another view of Hoover Dam”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

The turnoff to get here is located between the security checkpoint and Hoover Dam parking ($7) as of April 2013. There is a small uphill hike to the top of the bridge. Photographers shouldn't pass up this opportunity to see the Hoover Dam from this bridge. From the parking lot to the bridge and across the bridge, there is information about it.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2013

It's a toss-up as to which is more dramatic: the bridge or Hoover Dam. Fortunately, one can view both on the same trip. Be sure to pull off the road onto the bridge viewing parking lot and then walk up to the bridge and walk its length and read all the informative plaques. The story of Pat Tillman is most touching and inspiring.

“You must walk this bridge to appreciate it. Great view of Hoover Dam”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2013

This is a FREE attraction!

We drove to Hoover Dam from Vegas. Immediately before the Dam is a pullout for this bridge. There is a modest-sized parking lot and a walkway up towards the bridge. There are a few plaques and signs along the way that talk about the bridge and give some background on its history.

Once you step on the bridge there are a few things you should take notice:

a) you will have a great, unobstructed view of Hoover Dam as you walk the bridge
b) as you walk across the bridge, you are technically crossing from Nevada into Arizona
c) as you cross from Nevada into Arizona, you are crossing time zones (how's THAT for trivia)
d) the Nevada/Arizona state line is marked by a medallion about halfway across the bridge (hint: look DOWN at the walkway near the top of the gravity arch!)
e) if you DROVE across the bridge, you will have not the same view as pedestrians since the traffic wall is too high

If you are going to Hoover Dam, you might as well take a quick stop and walk the bridge.

Recommend you visit early as the parking lot can get full and you will have to wait until a spot opens up. There is a restroom in the parking lot, but no other facilities.

Final note: I was proud that my daughter knew that Pat Tillman gave up his professional sports career after Sept 11 to become a US Army Ranger. He bravely served several tours of duty before he died in the mountains of Afghanistan due to a friendly fire incident.
