Nice location with a room with a view over Lake Mead. Large room with plenty of counter space in the bathroom. Quiet. Breakfast area was clean and neat with a fair selection of food and beverages. The lady at check-in was OK but not as friendly as she could have been. Was very pleased when we found the soda drinks in the vending machine were only 75 cents.
False advertising was a disappointment. We pulled in around four in the afternoon on a very warm day and really looked forward to using the hot tub and pool. The large reader board in front featured these two amemities. Much to our dismay they were not open. They should have not be mentioned on the board until available for use.
I was hoping for more! Recently spent one night at the hotel after late arrival in LAS on way to PHX. Convenient location at the edge of town closest to Hoover Dam. Rather spartan hotel with no particular amenities to brag about. After seeing that the parking lot was almost vacant, we were a little leary about staying there. Room seemed clean enough, but we did find what appeared to be a few stains on the sheets. Mattresses were not particularly supportive. Complimentary, self-serve breakfast in the lobby was appreciated; not anything special, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, cereal, breads, etc, . Modest hotel for a one night stay for someone traveling to another destination, but it really lacks the amenities and service needed for longer stays.
We had a great experience overall at this quality inn. Check in was super fast and easy, the room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and the staff was very helpful. The grounds are very nice for a motel and the paint job on both the interior and exterior looked new. Great location right off the main road and very easy to get to. I didn't get to try the pool, nor did I really get a good look at it so I can't say whether it's good or bad. Would definitely recommend!
Based on reading reviews of this hotel's old days as a Best Western, it has definitely turned a new leaf. Lobby and breakfast area looked recently remodeled. The room looked almost completely new within the last year or so, great bed, soft towels, newer looking furniture, fridge, microwave. Extra vanity area outside the bathroom, plenty of counter space. Room was big, and had a balcony with chairs...overlooking Lake Mead! Great value for a room with a view, and perfectly located between the heart of Boulder City and Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam, less than 5 minutes to any of those places.
The staff was great as well. The front desk let us check in 20 minutes early, and was quick to dispatch help when our door stuck and we couldn't get in the room. She even offered free fruit leftover from the morning's breakfast! My only gripe...the selection of tv channels was pretty limited.
Don't go by some of the older reviews...give this place a chance! I would definitely stay here again.
I should have realised by the price that I was taking a chance. We booked for the location, and Hoover Dam and Lake Mead were fantastic.
When we arrived the air conditioning was not on, despite the 100+ temperature, and it took until the early hours of the following morning for the room to cool down, by which time I had not had any sleep! I booked a room with a spa, but this looked very old, and none too clean, so we did not use it. The breakfast (I think this is what they called it) is not worth the effort. Apart from the convenient location, boulder city was a very short drive, and there were some nice restaurants. As you can tell I was not very impressed.
