“Outstanding theatre”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

I can’t say enough good things about the Shelterbelt Theatre. The intimacy of this small theater is very nice. It is like being in the performance. My eyesight and hearing is not good but seeing and hearing the actors is no problem in this up-close and personal setting. It is like having the play preformed just for you alone. In addition, this theatre specializes in the production of new and original works written by local playwrights and preformed by local actors. But just because they are local doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Some of the actors and playwrights have outstanding credentials. Some well known actors are said to have performed here and the place also holds many auditions for promising actors. If you are scriptwriter, you can submit your scripts and, if liked, your play may find a place on the stage. The Shelterbelt is known for hosting many kinds of plays in all genres like comedy, horror, suspense, romance, etc. The non-profit theatre company has been in the business since 1999 but it is still one of Omaha’s best kept secrets.
