“Great Irish Pub Menu”
Reviewed 13 March 2014

Ok, I've never been to Ireland but the menu has a lot of items that people tell me are often served in Ireland. Lunch at The Brazen head is always done nicely, with great service and great tasting entrees. The fish and chips are really good. I've had a shepherd's pie and just had their bangers and mash. The food comes out promptly even during the lunch rush. Food prices are reasonable. They tell me that much of the interior is actually from a pub in Ireland. It is a warm cozy place to eat with small nooks, bar seating, and a couple of small rooms. During nice weather, the patio in the back is really nice. My friends tell me that they have a great variety of scotch. (I prefer a nice dark Guinness myself). In the many times that I've been there I've had no complaints other than the live band on weekends can be a bit overpowering.

“Good Lunch with Friends”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

About twenty of retired friends went to lunch today, Ash Wednesday. at Brazen Head in Omaha. Many of us had their fish/chips special. I had a fish sandwich with cold slaw. Several had their onion soup as well, and they were satisfied. We had a separate room which was great for conversations. The restaurant itself was quite crowded.

“Good, but pricy drink menu!”
Reviewed 24 February 2014

If you want to go off the ordinary realm of typical beer and or liquor selections bring some serious cash if you want to try a better Scotch, Whisky, or imported beer. You can buy a couple of bottles at a liquor store for the price of 6 drinks. No giving you a hearty poor here for an $11 2oz glass of Glenlivet, 2 oz to the T. Atmosphere good with a fair band performing some Irish music, or should I say country turn Irish for the night. Fits the pub I guess. Enjoyed a bit but nothing to write home about.

“Best Onion Soup Ever!”
Reviewed 13 January 2014 via mobile

I took my wife and two kids here for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy and the service was good. I've been here many times for food and for drinks. The food is always hot and well prepared and they have a great selection of beers and spirits. On this latest visit the wife had the diablo chicken sandwich; it was very good. My son had the grilled cheese; nothing special and the daughter had the chicken fingers. The chicken looked hand breaded and it was very tender. I decided to try the onion soup in a bread bowl after tasting it a few weeks ago. I normally don't like onion soup but this stuff is different. It's cream based and loaded with cheese. It is one if the best soups I have ever eaten. I can't begin to explain how delicious it is. If you like soup, you must try it.

“Nice Pub Atmosphere”
Reviewed 13 October 2013

The Brazen Head occupies an unlikely spot in a strip mall. But when you walk through the door you can imagine yourself in a neighborhood pub on the Emerald Isle. The front half of the Brazen Head, according to the pub's website, was built in Ireland and reassembled in Omaha. The dark woodwork, well-worn tabletops, and a beautiful bar all conspire to provide an authentic pub atmosphere, right down to a cozy front room with big chairs and a fireplace. The back of the pub, beyond the bar, has a similar design, but appears to be more modern, has a lighter color woodwork, and doesn't quite achieve the authentic feel of the front rooms. The beer selection is not exceptional, but generally okay, with some decent Irish, English, and Scottish selections, along with some interesting domestics. In the bottled beer list, such breweries as Anchor Steam and Sierra Nevada are called "microbrews," although I'm not sure most folks would any longer put those beers in the micro category. There is a good range of Irish whiskeys and a variety of good single malts, some interesting specialty drinks, and a wine list. The menu is solid, competent pub food, including a number of boxties, fish and chips (all you can eat on Sundays), a variety of fish and meat dishes, and some veggie options. Irish music is featured on Wednesday nights. If you're a fan of Irish or English pubs, this is a good place to get a fix in the Midwest.
