Very spacious room. The evening reception was awesome! The lounge area is warm and cozy with a beautiful fireplace - relaxing atmosphere. Great price, numerous amenities and friendly, helpful staff. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Corner room on the south side right by the elevator was quite spacious & quiet.

The Magnolia combines historic architecture and modern chic decor. Great, very friendly service, delicious complimentary warm breakfast with a wide variety of offerings, beautifully appointed rooms, comfy beds and the cookies and milk at bedtime is a nice touch. The free WiFi is great, and we appreciated the optional late check out. We look forward to returning and trying out the other Magnolia Hotels in Denver and Texas.

We stayed overnight at the Magnolia and loved it. There were only two drawbacks...

The only options for parking your car was metered parking or valet. There was parking garage across the street, so it would have been nice if the hotel had some kind of agreement with the garage so that guests could park their cars there.

The second drawback was that the bathroom door was sliding and gave no privacy. The hotel is in the process of converting the bathrooms to a closed door style, so they moved us to a room that had already been converted.

The service was great, the happy hour and the breakfast were perfect...overall we loved our stay and look forward to visiting again!

We were fortunate enough to visit Omaha Jan 5-8 and it was absolutely the coldest that we have ever experienced. Of course being from South Carolina that isn't saying much. Despite the cold we had a wonderful stay at the Magnolia. Breakfast was great and happy hour was much appreciated. The entire staff was friendly and made us feel like our business was appreciated. The shuttle was always warm and we did use it a lot during our stay to visit the University of Omaha Medical Center. We will definitely be back in the fall, hopefully with a little better weather so that we can enjoy the walk to the market area.

We chose the Magnolia Hotel for its location - easy walk to the Orpheum Theater. We were celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary with a night's stay at the hotel and attending Mannheim Steamroller performance at the Orpheum. The hotel is a beautiful renovation of unique building built in 1923, formerly known as Aquila Court Building. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. I once interviewed for a job with an attorney in the building when it was the Aquila, so was very interested to see what had been done. Needless to say, I did not recognize anything about the building once I got in there! The front desk staff were all courteous and the valet parking (while a bit pricey) was a nice touch since parking anywhere in downtown Omaha can be a challenge. The room was very nice, and super quiet. We did not hear any elevator noise, just a siren outside once (which can't be helped - it is downtown Omaha) and no one running and screaming up and down the hallways, which seems to be a common problem in many hotels we have stayed at in the past. We did have a drink in the lounge, but did not have dinner there. When we came back from the performance, we had cookies and milk in the lounge (which they do in the evenings) and that was a nice touch. This was a Sunday night stay and we did not get up super early on Monday, so were late getting down to the complimentary breakfast, which is served in the lounge area. Because of that, most of the food was gone and what was left was not very warm. I can't fault them for that, since we were late getting down there, so would like to try staying there again before making any further judgment on the food. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and definitely would stay there again and recommend it to others.

What a wonderful review to read! The historic connections, the night on the town with culture and music, our location, and your positive experience with us, and all so eloquently put, make this an easy review to share with our staff.

We're glad we got to be a part of such a great time and we appreciate you sharing it with us.

Just the name "Magnolia" says it all. Charming and elegant!! We failed to make it to the fitness center, the beds being sooo comfy were to blame!! You can not just walk past the lounge, it sucks you in with its warm fireplace, cookies and milk!! We saw several people sitting alone with their laptop and cell phone in the lounge. They were just sitting back looking happy and enjoying life!!

After an accidental mis-booking on hotels.com, I learned the following about them and Magnolia...
1.) Good luck getting any kind of refund or exchange through Hotels.com, they do not take responsibility and push the topic onto the hotel.
2.) Once Magnolia has sold a "third party booking" they will not refund or exchange, despite being the final recipient of the $$$.
3.) Magnolia will match Hotels.com prices, then once booked through Magnolia, they might be willing to work with you to actually deliver a satisfactory experience...otherwise, any third party website will leave you high and dry.
4.) Magnolia has no issue with telling their guests that they aren't willing to help them. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE! Boo on you Magnolia! You owe me $96 for the empty room that you collect money for on a night when you were at 47% occupancy!

Room Tip: Check for rates on third party sites like hotels.com, then call Magnolia directly and make them matc...

Dear Travis A,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Reviews are a great source of ways we can improve our services. I have forwarded your review to the administrative staff. While I cannot address and am unaware of the specific inner-workings of Magnolia's relationship with Hotels.com, I can say that if any problems should occur with bookings, it is always our priority to ensure that our guests are taken care of, have a room in which to stay, and that any financial loose-ends be kept to a minimum. Judging from your ratings, it seems that while the administrative side of your stay was left wanting, the rooms, location, value, cleanliness and sleep quality were up to your standards.

We appreciate the balance of your review and hope that in the future we'll be able to serve you and earn higher marks in all categories. Thank you again for sharing,

Regards,
Ryan
