took the stairs to the top. shared some champagne. very windy at the top. not all the stairs have railings. there is a local gas shop near by that has touristy stuff (coffee, champagne, etc)

My wife and I took a beautiful sunrise hike around this volcano crater. They have wonderful paths that lead up and around the top of the crater. I recommend doing this early before the day-trip folks arrive from the city. It's also right now the road from the Hraunsnef Country Hotel, a gem of a hotel to stay at.

The craters are, well, craters. They are impressive enough but it is a bit of a climb up a lot of stairs to get there. We're fit, it was a nice day, we needed to stretch our legs, so enjoyed the diversion. Had it been raining or if we were not used to climbing stairs it would not have been much fin.

Just a couple of miles from Bifrost on the A1, this is a well maintained walk to the top of a volcanic crater. It takes about 15 minutes to climb, and there has been a new wooden walkway built. The views from the top are fantastic.

As we already visited Hverfjall & Víti in Mývatn, we're disappointed with Grabrok. It's small, compared to Hverfjall. If you plan t visit Hverfjall, Grabrok can be skipped. It has nice view, though.
