“Will definitely return!”

Just got back from two days in Springfield. Found the Pasfield House Inn on the internet. Absolutely wonderful experience! A very welcoming reception when we arrived. Staff knowledgeable of area and very helpful with answering questions. The tour of the inn and it's history was great. Rooms are very comfortable, decorated nicely, updated, wonderful whirlpool tub. Breakfast was very tasty. We didn't know Springfield well so ended up driving to sites but one could walk to many of the sites from this location. Proprietor, Tony, was a wealth of information about the history of Springfield. If you like history, plan to spend some time at the inn taking in the story of this home. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. The location is great - easy walking distance to the Lincoln sites and the Dana Thomas House. Many good restaurants are also close. The Inn itself is very comfortable, with clean rooms, good WiFi, a jacuzzi in every room, and hundreds of DVDs to watch. We enjoyed having breakfast to eat when we wanted it. Tony was very helpful and knowledgeable about restaurants and attractions. We would definitely come here again because there is a lot to explore in downtown Springfield.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Pasfield House. It's a charming, character rich, and nicely-kept historic inn that is well located in downtown Springfield. We easily walked to all of the major attractions.

We had the third floor suite, we later learned that the third floor had been the ballroom of the home and has been converted into two very nice living suites. There was a living room, dinette area, large bedroom and nice bathroom. It very much had a feeling that it was separated from the rest of the house. One evening, there was a large dinner engagement on the first floor and you couldn't hear a thing on the third.

One thing I was pleasantly surprised by was that there was excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water on the third floor. I've had different experiences on the upper floors of other old restored homes.

But, the absolute best part of our stay we're the interesting stories, local tips and jolly innkeeper hospitality of the owner Tony Leone and his lovely wife. Their personalities, attention to detail and local flair is what is, for me anyway, the big difference between a warm and interesting inn, and a sterile hotel experience. Tony is a great raconteur, full of fascinating local stories and inside information. Be sure to ask him for a look at the DVD that PBS did about the home.

I highly recommend Pasfield House.

Enjoyed our visit to Springfield very much and our stay at the Pasfield House in particular. Historical house has been beautifully restored and there is much to like there. Very conveniently located near all the major attractions, shops, and restaurants.

Room Tip: Choose a room with lots of space.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Pasfield House Inn! The historical home was beautifully restored and we enjoyed learning the history of it. Very conveniently located near downtown Springfield, and we were close to all of the Lincoln places we wanted to visit, and many other shops and restaurants.

We LOVED the room itself! We had a separate sitting room, kitchenette, bedroom & private bath. It was Frank Lloyd Wright inspired decor, which we love. Minimal, but nice and tasteful. Cool attic space with slanted ceilings and a lot of interest in the structure.

I will say that you need to be fairly laid back if you are going to stay here, as it is not what I consider to be a traditional B&B, or even a country inn, for that matter. It is unconventional, but that doesn't mean that it's bad - just know that it is not typical. Here are some reasons that I say that:
~ There is not an online reservation system in the traditional sense. You send them the dates you want to be there, and then get a personal email to tell you if there is room for you or not. I think they decide on what room you will be in when you get there. You to go online and choose your breakfast items and drinks that you want put in your fridge.
~ There is not a group breakfast. You order what you want online and it is brought to your room the day before. You heat up a homemade egg strata (if that's what you ordered) in your own kitchenette, or have cereal, fruit, bagels, yogurt, etc. It's good food, but not over the top, and very little variety if you are there for a few days.
~ There is not a staff person on the premises at all times - they come and go during the day and are not there at night. Many times we were the only people in the house. So if you need an extra towel or blanket, you many not get it right when you want it. You have a key to the building though, come and go as you please, and you pay upfront as soon as you get there.

We had a few issues with some things that didn't work well (the jacuzzi & one of the AC's), but our overall weekend in Springfield was so enjoyable, that it wasn't a big deal. Tony graciously shared some free tickets with us for an event, and we enjoyed a little private tour of the property. It's a mix of personal moments with the staff, but not being overwhelmed with people, learning their system of doing things, and a little lack of organization at times.

However, as I said at the beginning of this review, if you are laid back and don't compare this with your typical B&Bs, it's a very nice place to stay! The price is very reasonable as well.

This is a beautifully restored historical home with a great location very close to the new capitol building. Even so, each room has a very modern kitchenette and fantastic spa tub. Our bedroom was beautiful and our room was very comfortable. We had a living room area in our suite with fireplace, television, dvd, reading material, lots of free dvd movies available, lots of drawer space.

Tony and Kathy were wonderful hosts. They gave us the red carpet tour of the house, including the very interesting commercial kitchen in the basement. And Tony has plenty of stories about the many historical artifacts Tony has collected, especially in their Lincoln Library - a very cozy room and welcoming room that you could spend all day in.

We wish we had had time to sit on the porch and relax since the outside grounds are gorgeous. But we will next time. We hear it is especially special during Christmas and we will be back then.

We felt like we made great new friends with Tony and Kathy and look forward to seeing them again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the South West corner room on the 2nd floor and really enjoyed it. You can't go wr...

We managed our two day Lincoln adventure in Springfield perfectly from the Pasfield House Inn. Everything we wanted to see was within walking distance or a few minutes drive from this great location. Our family utilized two beautiful rooms, perfectly appointed and comfortable. It was obvious that cleanliness was prized here. The Lincoln DVDs made available to us by Tony added much to our enjoyment of what we were experiencing in Land of Lincoln. The DVDs were especially welcome since the large lovely TVs only received 4 channels. (One was the shopping network.) Cable is needed here. Although the large jacuzzis were enjoyed by all, they are difficult to climb in and out of for simple showers. No grab bars. For us, the breakfasts stocked in our rooms were disappointing..stale and unappatizing. We advise bringing your own - the fridge and microwave were ample, or go out for breakfast. Overall, location and ambiance couldn't be topped.

Room Tip: Be aware that you need to be able to climb stairs. No elevator.
