This was our first time eating corn dogs and damn, this was good! We loved every single bit of it and as an homage to the cozy dog i decided to put two corn dogs on my route 66 tattoo! The atmosphere here is the nostalgic fast food joint atmosphere, including two pimply teenagers serving the food!

It's fun to stop at the Cozy Dog when you're traveling Route 66, but don't stop here for the food. The hot dogs were just average, but it's the nostalgia, isn't it?

From the moment we spotted the restaurant, we were plunged into the 1950's atmosphere. The nostalgia of The MOTHER ROAD is rich with Historic ROUTE 66 signs, items from that era, & the furniture even is, or resembles the first great road from Chicago to Los Angeles. NOW, as for the food; it's outa the past, with the famous COZY DOG being their "claim to fame." I'm not a hot hot dog fan, but my companion said the COZY DOG was better than average. I really enjoyed the fresh cut French Fries, as my mother made, in the era before pre-packaged frozen foods. There is a authentic museum section, & I couldn't get enough of viewing the ROUTE 66 memorabilia. Desserts are lacking, as they had "bought" items, verses "fresh dipped." Just know, this is a place from the mid 20th century, & not the typical "McD's" type establishment, or food type. About the only modern 21st century aspect of the COZY DOG, was that we ordered our food at the counter, rather than being "waited on." We will stop in again!

The food was not horrible but its the type of food you can get at any diner. Its hard to believe that 2 cheeseburgers, an order of fries and mushrooms and 2 drinks cost $21.

You're not going here for amazing food, but to take in the ambiance of a time long gone. We were there and a dozen classic cars arrived- was very cool to see! We had corn dogs and fries and they were just fine. Not amazing, but it was fun seeing all of the memoriabilia from the old Rt. 66!
