“Small but worth it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

We saw lots of animals. Wolves at play, peacocks showing their feathers, cougars, turtles eating, mocking monkeys, and a lot more. Gift shop is decent. Price is cheap. Well worth what there is to see. Lots of play ground equipment and picnic tables. We brought a cooler with water and sandwiches and had a picnic. Only 1 animal was MIA: the wolverine.

“Small but nice”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

The zoo is small with a limited number of animals. My 5 year old enjoyed it while we were there. Don't expect to spend the whole afternoon there, maybe 45 minutes or so. The price was reasonable. We bought the family pass for $60 that is used for other zoos around the country. That was a great deal. They have a snack bar and small gift shop reasonably priced.

“Small zoo, but worth it”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

Definitely worth stopping if you're in the Springfield area. Smaller zoo (only took us about an hour to walk around), but they have some unique animals and you can tell they're taken care of well (always a fear of mine when you hear about the smaller places). There are some fun animal sculptures scattered throughout the zoo, you can get closer to the animals than other zoos and it's not a bad price at all...just over $10 for admission for both my husband and me and $1.25 for a soda. Only thing I would recommend is maybe go a little bit later in the season when more animals would be out, but it was even worth it now.

“Um....is this a zoo?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2014

We were excited to see the animals. Little did we know many of the animals were MIA!!! Bears-none; penguins- after looking through a very dirty glass window there was one hiding between barrels; tortoise---nada; spider monkey--Aldo missing. Perhaps the animals were still housed for winter. However, you would think there would be a sign stating such. We felt a little ripped off. There was a cool male peacock strutting his stuff. A large snake was there. It didn't move. A wolverine looked at us, was unimpressed and went back to sleep. Overall---not worth it. Maybe it's better in the summer months.

“Quaint”

Small, but a nice variety. Petting area, native species and a few unique exotics, South African penguins are a favorite. The peacocks roam free and are very entertaining.
