Angelas is a small house on Macarthur blvd, that is truly a hidden gem. When you walk in you feel like you are in a small shop in Italy. The first thing you see is a meat fridge that holds proscuitto di parma, salami, soppresata, salami, pepperoni, stuffed peppers, calamata olives, greek olives, fruit salad, bruschetta salad, Parmesan, asiago, gouda, mozzarella, gorgonzola. Right next to the counter she has a meat slicer from Italy that she slices whatever you would like up. She also fills the small shop with homemade dishes from her kitchen like Gazpacho, Eggplant Parmigiana, lasagna, fusili, spit pea soup, minestrone and more. She also has tons of imported pastas, candies, cookies and canned/jarred items from Italy. Angela is from Palermo Italy and is probably one of the most loving and nice people you will meet. She is the real deal. The prices are a little high but it is very worth it to be able to support such a unique local business and for the great quality of food that she provides. Check it out if you are a foodie, not being from Springfield I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I found it, due to the fact good food is hard to find in this town. Her hours are M-F 9-4, Sat. 9-1. She also has homemade ravioli, gnocchi and pizza dough for sale.
