Owner description: Named in 2012 as one of National Geographic's “25 Wonders of the World," Blue Lagoon has evolved from its infancy as a reservoir of geothermal runoff into a world of geothermal wonder. The unique properties of its waters provide not only an enchanting lagoon experience, but also the patented, active ingredients in Blue Lagoon skin care: silica, algae, and minerals. Blue Lagoon is located in a sprawling, 800 year old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula – a UNESCO Geopark. Just 20 minutes from Keflavík International Airport and 50 minutes from Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon is simultaneously remote and easily accessible.

Myself and my husband really liked this place . It's a Wonderful Experience!!! We were soaking in the water for a whole day, had a tasty lunch , glass of wine.
"Blue Lagoon" face mask, shampoo, conditioner is Free.
Also there is a guy who offers free scrub , you do not have to go anywhere he walks around with the tray. Magnificent View!!!
There is "Blue Lagoon" shop at the exit where you can try different products but we bought everything at the Airport DUTY FREE.
We can highly recommend this place and will come back.;)

I think everybody who comes to Iceland should go to Blue Lagoon.I was not sure ,but finally I decided to go and I don`t regret it.Very relaxing! Water is warm and not too deep. You can just soak there:).There is a bar where you can buy a drink and there is also restaurant. There is very good transport to Blue Lagoon from Reykjavik and also from the airport.

Approaching this through the lava fields north of Grindavik is certainly amazing and surreal as it just looks wrong. We have visited before but is now becoming so commercialised and expensive and blatantly designed to extract money from the tourist trade that it is hard to recommend. There is a similar one in the north east at Myvatn which has not yet had the fleecing treatment although it will unfortunately probably follow...

we booked an Iceland Complete 9 day tour. a day before our tour started, we arrived at the international airport at 3:10pm. We arranged ahead to be picked up at 4:30pm to relax in the spa, and till.9pm, to be transferred from the spa, to our Hilton Hotel in town. Even you didn't arrange before ypur flight, you can still do it in the airport counters.

We arrived at the spa.around 5pm. Checked in all our luggages for a few euros per item. got the entrance tickets we prepaid but you can also purchase on spot as there is no big line up. Paid five euro for each towel but you can also bring your own.

the lockers are easy to use once you know how to. First, put your stuff in any locker you like . When you're ready close the door and IMmediately swipe the electronic plate with your wrist band. if you don't do so quick enough and another person has just closed her locker, just when you were swiping you would be locking HER locker! no big deal, just unlock and redo the whole thing properly.

there are no worries about mixing other people's towels. Take a shower then you simply gg go in the indoor pool entrance and then open the small door to swim or walk outside to the actual spa. you can leave your towels in the locker at all times as the spa is so warm.

the clay is good for the face and body but i suggest the ladies not to wear any make up to the spa and you know why. Enjoy head and shoulders massage under the waterfall , or better still, arrange a personal massage but you have to do that beforehand. We heard it was difficult for a bigger group like 6.

Had wonderful and fresh sushi, salads and desert and left at 9pm. It was still bright.

Just perfect to relax from the flights and get ready for a round the island tour to come

you can also do it on the way to the airport. just specify the pick up venue. Very organized of them.
