“Best Romantic stay ever”

Blue lagoon clinic hotel is only make up of 15 rooms. The hotel staff provides us with customized service. Eg when we ask for ironing board, or ask them to make meal reservation for us even though we are late, they always do it for us with a smile. They also answer our queries promptly. Special thanks to Linda who makes our stay so pleasurable. The room is very spacious, and the window overlooks the whole lava field. Spectacular and romantic view. The private lagoon is also very nice and huge. We are expecting a small private one lagoon. In addition, blue clinic lagoon also provides us with complimentary tickets to the blue lagoon. It's was such a good bargain. Even the lunch buffet is fantastic. Totally love everything at the hotel. I will recommend it to all my friends in Singapore!

We just spent a night with 2 adults, 3 teens from USA. After an overnight flight JFK-KEF on Icelandair, we arrived at 6 AM. Booked a car with Sad Cars, a little primitive, but fine. Their office is in a Quanset hut about 3 miles from airport, but they pick you up. Cars are older, lots of scratches, etc. but friendly service. After a breakfast at nearby Subway, we fueled the empty tank with a few gallons & drove to Blue Lagoon. We were told we could have our rooms about 10 AM, and were all given free passes to the public lagoon. We drove from the hotel to the lagoon, killed an hour or two, then returned to hotel & rooms were ready. Nice, clean rooms, about a dozen rooms there. Guests walking about in robes. Heated slate floors throughout, towel warmers in bathrooms, small private deck on each room overlooks a lava field. 5 minute walk to main lagoon. Breakfast included, cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, rolls, coffee. Expresso machine free in lobby, always open. Private pool very nice; change area, showers, you can enter water INDOORS, then float out. Nice inter tubes & pool noodles free. Would be ok in severe cold weather without being cold. Water very warm, silica white mud cleaner, more refined than main spa. Several private pools within the small private lagoon, and maybe 6-8 guests altogether. Had dinner In Grindavik, see other post. Staff kind, efficient. First class.

Satisfied with the hotel's top class service. View over the window of guestroom was just incredible until late at night! There was also a private Blue Lagoon just for the residents! Just five minute's scenic walk to the main Blue Lagoon!

Was so disappointed with this hotel. Rooms were average, facilities are average, breakfast is terrible. The private lagoon is absolutely fantastic and a real treat but that is about it (on a negative side it is only open to guests between 8pm-10pm. We asked if we could go in a little earlier as we were only there for 1 night but they said no.) I wouldn't stay here again. It is overpriced and I feel that you are purely paying for the private lagoon and that's it.

Many people get addicted to this place. In spite of being like a combined hospital & work place cantine kind of an environment, next to the geothermal power plants, all at a very expensive price, the magic of the private hot springs, lava field surroundings, mountains in the distance and the small size are so attractive that it is always so great to come back. Turistic Blue Lagoon is only 600 meters away. Even the power plants are a part of the attraction and very beautifully lit during the winter. There is a restaurant "Lava" at the Blue Lagoon. If you want to eat lunch or dinner at the hotel, you need to book it in advance. The breakfast is delicious and healthy. This is a place where people from all over the world bathe together like babies. Perhaps it creates the peaceful and stress free atmosphere. This is a true haven.

This hotel is a few hundred metres from the main lagoon. It's quiet, and offers just rooms, buffet breakfast, and access to their own hot lagoon and some spa treatments (not taken). For food apart from breakfast you have to hike to the main lagoon buildings. So this wasn't much for the price, but that's Iceland. The receptionist (just one, no one else in sight when we arrived) was rather sour, and we had to wait while she told a phone enquirer to go look at the web site. But the main thing is this hotel really needs refurbishment. In our room we found: a bathroom socket hanging off the wall; lots of chips in the wall paintwork; the ceiling paper starting to come off; and lots of knocks and scrapes in the wood floor. Overall: a major re-furb of this place is long overdue.

If you want the customer service of a hotel, you wont find it here. But the rooms were very clean and tranquill. We arrived in the afternoon and used the Blue Lagoon that day and came back to our room. Very easy access. We ended up going up the road to the "Northern Lights Hotel" for dinner which was excellent. We hit up the Blue Lagoon again the second day. So for the price of the room and 2 1/2 days at the Blue Lagoon we really thought it was a good value. The private lagoon is nice, however not as warm as the public lagoon. Our room looked over the lava fields and was amazing.
