We arrived into Marino for the wine festival (Sagra dell'Uva) in early October. Unfortunately, I'd accidentally booked this B&B in Castel Gandolfo which is over the hill and the next stop on the train. So after getting some local help we were delighted to arrive at the train station in Castel Gandolfo and be greeted by the owner of the B&B with her car. She gave us a lift to the B&B which is conveniently situated a couple of minutes walk from the lake and a 10 - 15 minute walk from the restaurants on the lake front. (Tip - try the pizza restaurant by the roundabout as you come down the hill from the train station. They are enormous and cheap !)
The room was on the 1st floor and had a great view over the lake. There was also a balcony that we used to sit out when the sun was shining one morning. The room was spacious. The bed was comfy and we would have slept well both nights, except for a thunderstorm echoing around the lake and a local dog barking on the 2nd night. The bathroom was across the corridor (I personally don't like these arrangements) but we had our own key to this so it was at least private.
The breakfast was adequate. We didn't like the plastic plates or the pre-packaged croissants, rolls, etc. The coffee was good though.More
