Was very impressed with this hotel just outside Rome. It was so peaceful and the views outside were stunning! The rooms were an average size and the bathrooms were clean and up to date. The hotel had electric blinds in all the rooms and some rooms were equipped with little decks for even better views. We didn't have much interaction with the staff but they didn't seem to be impressed at the fact that we were a large group staying in their hotel, but as long as you are quiet and respectful they didn't give us any trouble. If you're looking for a relaxing stay with outstanding views, then this is the hotel for you!

We booked this hotel for our last night in Italy and chose it for the location and views. We had been very much looking forward to sitting on the terrace in the evening with a drink in hand (essentially the reason for selecting this hotel) but sadly this was not to be. We quickly discovered that a wedding was in progress and so the outside spaces (all terraces and swimming pool) and the restaurant were not available for use by the other hotel guests. Frankly, we were astonished that the hotel did not provide some alternative space or facilities. When we complained, the staff and management appeared unapologetic and disinterested. Did not feel particularly valued as a paying customer (paying full price for advertised facilities). Our room was small, bit scruffy, shower had mould on it and air conditioning was noisy and not very effective. Bed was fairly comfy and breakfast was OK. We can appreciate that weddings are an important part of any hotels business but you do wonder how many other guests experience this disappointment - surely the hotel owes equal respect to all paying guests and should give some serious thought as to how to acommodate this. Perhaps they don't need to value repeat custom - quite a luxury!

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. It's near Rome and both of its airports but it's still out in the country and so is quiet. It's an average sized hotel, with a pool, free wifi and parking, and easy acess to the lake. The room was small but adequate, the breakfast was great and I had a really nice relaxing time.

My dream had always been to marry in Rome (I'm half Italian). It was made possible by the wonderful and beautiful people at Villa degli Angeli on 30th July 2011. A restaurant I had frequented as a child on family holidays in Italy. So when I knew that I was getting married, there seemed no other choice! They catered to my every need, they were so welcoming to all my English and Italian guests. The pre-menu visit was accommodating and supportive, the food was exquisite! The service at the Wedding Breakfast was impeccable. Though the restaurant/hotel is 30 minutes from Rome, the hotel were able to offer anyone who needed a pick up or drop off at the Castel Gandolfo train station, which took about 30-40 minutes into Rome. It seems this pocket of heaven has cherry-picked some of the best people in the country to provide the ultimate luxury and I can tell you for sure, my wedding was unforgettable. The views are sensational and there is nothing more to say, except that, I will be back again and again.

The views looking across Lago Albano towards Castel Gandolfo are breathtaking. Food in the retaurant is good. However we expected a 4 to 5 star rooms and hotel based upon the web site and found closer to a 2 star. Service was disinterested and disorganized by most of the staff encountered. The hotel is run down in terms of basic maintenance, needs paint, change of wallpaper, new furniture. Walls in the room and hallways were scuffed, (more than just a season's worth). Desk in the room had cigarette burns. Whicker display chairs in the hall way were broken. When we complained about the room, we were told we had the best available and were shown another room which was inferior. Shower only yielded hot water (much too hot), and air conditioning worked sporadically. No safes in the room. It is as if the hotel has struggled financially and has no money to reinvest and is juts living off of the location and views. Other than the spectacular view there is little to recommend
