Owner description: Welcome to Harvard Square Each year, over 8 million men, women and children visit Harvard Square. Visitors come for a variety of reasons; this is a place of history, of books, of ideas, and of learning. It is a place of bookstores and coffee houses, of fine dining and eclectic shopping. It is a place of folk music and old theaters, of Cuban ballet and world-class music, of street-performers and award-winning pizza, of public discourse, and public art. Whatever brings you here, we welcome you and hope you enjoy your stay.

“Nice area”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

Harvard Square has a lot of little shops and restaurants. Don't miss the Barnes & Noble/Harvard library-shop, they have a lot of good books and souvenirs, and even a children area on the lower ground floor !

“I love Harvard Square any time of year”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I'm always amazed how much I love Harvard Square once I'm there. It's a funky area that has so much to offer. Some of the best dining is in the area along with bakeries, cafes and small locally owned shops. Lots to do in a easy walking area. Great place to people watch.

“Nice for a First Visit”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

This was my first visit to Boston, so visit Harvard and Harvard Square was an absolute must. It was nice taking a brief walk through the Harvard grounds. The history of the campus is captivating. We had lunch at a chain restaurant which was fine. I would rather have eaten at a local establishment but our schedule did not allow for us to seek one out. However, we did enjoy some of the local shops in Harvard Square. The Coop was great. The Curious George store was so much fun - for young and old alike. The charm and history of the area is captivating for a first-time visitor. I do hope that the locals are able to hold onto their local charm. Take the "T" up to Cambridge...and don't forget your camera!

“Its not even square”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

Its just a road junction with slightly bigger sidewalks with a fancy name and a bunch of shops. I don't understand why this place is rated so highly - the only good thing about the "square" is the free wifi.

“Harvard Sq...still a favorite after living here over 10 years”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

I live here, but my family and I frequently visit Harvard Yard and Harvard Sq. Love the vibe and the history all mixed together. Local Business being pushed out is a real shame and is making the area less unique, but we just try to frequent the local businesses...Russel House Tavern, BGood, Crema Cafe, The Brattle Theatre, Newbury Comics, Curious George Store, Clover, The Coop, Cardulos, and Zinnia whenever we can. Hope you do too!

Cambridge Common is great for playground, but we go back time and again to JFK Park along the river for picnics...especially love the river on Sundays when Memorial Drive is closed and you can stroll, bike, walk and take in all the beauty of the river and gorgeous Harvard architecture.
