Thanks for all. I enjoyed my stay at your B&B a lot. Nice conversations, yammi breakfast, clean rooms, all located in a very good area. Very friendly people. It really felt like home. Hope to be back there again.

The room is clean also the bathroom and everything, though there's only one bathroom for all guests. The breakfast is very good, way better than expected. The best thing is the location, 7-10 minutes walk to Harvard square station and the bus stop is right in front of the place. I really enjoyed my stay and thanks for the kindness of Karen and Byron. I totally reccommend this place.

The single bathroom situation, shared with 6 people (one being the innkeeper), was an immediate deal breaker. If the owners had been in town, we would have had 8 people sharing one bathroom. We tried to leave, but all the hotels in the area were booked because of college students moving in! Since our group occupied all three available rooms, at least we weren't sharing a bathroom with people we didn't know (except the staff). I would not recommend this place if your group does not occupy all of the rooms.

We were attending a conference across the street, so this was a little close for coworkers. The location, just outside of Harvard Square, was ideal for our conference, but we found ourselves using the bathroom at the conference instead of the place we were paying to stay!

The B&B occupies the 3rd floor of an unmarked apartment building. There was old Victorian charm, but it seemed a little grungy. I checked for bedbugs, found none, but realized why the beds were so "comfortable." Layers upon layers of egg crate with a mattress on plywood! I also came home with a few VERY ITCHY spider bits. The last few mornings, we began to find things out of place in our room. We realized the innkeeper was watching T.V. in our room. Our room was not tidied each day, so we're not sure why this was happening. On the final day, or linens were changed for the next group and bags moved around, even before checkout time! A little too personal for me!

Breakfast was wonderful but a little redundant. Cornmeal pancakes 3 days and banana and yogurt crepes 2 days. Breakfast was served in the one, yes just one, common room- a 10x10 kitchen. We often took to the back porch, which was littered with kitchen appliances, junk, and dirty chairs.

We felt this place was not worth the money or the hassle. We could have stayed at the Hampton Inn for the same price, and wished it was available! If you are looking for a quaint, romantic, B&B, this is not it.

Room Tip: There is only 1 floor and 3 rooms. Not really much of a choice.

I spent a great week at the B & B in Cambridge. I felt very welcomed by the staff. The best part of my stay was the excellent directions that I received from Karen during my time in Cambridge and Boston. She asked me what my interests were in terms of sightseeing and then gave accurate directions to get to the museums and restaurants. I usually have problems sleeping the first night away from home, but the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious and filling. Byron is quite a cook. He also helped me to feel right at home.

Room Tip: Be willing to look at numerous websites to find the place that best suits your needs.

The house is lovely and the guest rooms are charming - obviously furnished with love, care and thought for the comfort of guests. From the moment you walk through the front door you have the undivided attention of the owners of the B and B. They couldn’t be more solicitous. They not only help with getting around in Boston, but take a very keen interest in all your doings. They obviously enjoy their guests. Breakfast time was great not only because of the quality of the meal, but also the chat around the table. The location of the B and B is excellent for exploring both Cambridge and Boston – the subway is just five minutes’ walk away. When I am next in Boston I will stay here!

Room Tip: Go for the one at the back of the house, its quieter!

Very nice place to stay, very well located, 5 minutes of walk from Harvard and from the subway.
Rooms are clean and the innkeeper and her assistant were very nice. Breakfast was great. Met very interesting people there. Innkeeper was good to start conversation with other residents. It is sure that it is a share bathroom, but we didn't have problem using it and it was very clean. Would recommand it for sure, don't understand the bad critics.

If you enjoy exposing yourself to a more in depth tourist experience then a stay at Doane and Karen's Lovely home should bring you just that. Tasty breakfast with a hint of homemade goodness on every plate, allow time for conversation to blossom and be amazed at all the inside knowledge you may find out from two wise locals. Very comfortable, pleasant stay. Thank you.
