Everything down to the wonderful included breakfast was way above what you normally encounter in this price category. Beautiful rooms in a former fire station turned hotel. Best hotel I have stayed in in US.

The hotel is close to Subway station just a few stops from downtown Boston. Parking at a fair price.

Whether on business or pleasure, this restored fire station is an utterly relaxing and fun place to stay. Throughout lobby, halls, and rooms the decor is like a fine inn, not like the surrounding "formula" hotels. Great location near to T stops, MIT, and restaurants. Room includes ample buffet breakfast, storage of luggage without cost, and a small restaurant if you want to eat in.

I have 3 nights booked in Kendall using internet 3rd party platform. When I arrived to the hotel (it was Sunday, about 8pm) nobody was in the reception, only the piece of paper with "will be back in few minutes" left. So it took maybe 10m for the guy to come back. Having my passport and booking confirmation, he could not find it in the system. After some searching - well, your booking had been canceled due to some problems with the card. You should have received an email. Of course there was no email at all. Finally he declared he found "the last remaining room for me". Of course price was about 200$ higher than in my booking confirmation - but what could I do being left there with bags after long flight from Europe. I took the room, which appeared to be a size of the post stamp ( maybe 16m2 - you may see the picture).

Room itself was clean and cosy - still very small. If you put ironing desk there it was literally difficult to move around.

Internet is included and works fast and stable everywhere.

Breakfast buffet is ok, but cannot compare in any case with this you may be used to from e.g. Marriott.

In general - cosy, little place but due to the problems mentioned above I would rather stick to proven chain hotels with standardized (and working) processes and policies.

Amazing experience!
I stayed here for a week in August during a business event and it really took me back to old Victorian era. It has an ancient style ambience, a very hospitable staff and is at a prime location, near the prestigious MIT and various IT companies like Google and Microsoft. The proximity to T line stations is less, making your commute fast and easy. A big plus to the superb breakfast and in hotel dining and Wine tasting hours for the guests.

Business trip to MIT, stayed 4 nights at the Kendall. Pricey, but if on an expense account, a fun place to stay. Comfortable room, tasty hot breakfast (yum! bacon!). Free pass to a nearby fitness facility, the Cambridge Athletic Club. Lots of great places to run or walk from the Kendall if you want a workout. The Kendall is full of charming antiques. The elevator is really slow - take the stairs!

Excellent service. Large, interesting room with comfortable beds. Breakfast included and free WiFi. Lobby small but cosy and interesting which creates a relaxed atmosphere. Very close to Red Line T station, MIT and a short walk or train trip to Central Square. Two stops to Harvard Square, one stop to Mass General Hospital. What's not to like about his quaint, yet efficient boutique hotel?

My husband, son and I stayed here for a weekend while watching my younger son compete in the Head of the Charles Regatta. The hotel has been described as funky and it is. Our room was very nice. My husband didn't like the softer mattress and I didn't like the pillows. This is definitely not a chain hotel. The breakfast buffet was better than most hotels. My issue is with the extra charges. After I booked the room I discovered that there was a per person per day fee for the "free" internet and buffet breakfast. I didn't see any mention of it when I was selecting the room. We added our son to the room. We were charged not only a $25 per day fee for the rollaway but charged $50 extra for him to be in our room. I have never heard of the additional charge. Some hotels may charge for a rollaway but that's all. We were also charged for parking. That's fine but the garage is very small and it's hard to get in and out of spots. We finally parked on the street the hotel owns. That's fine because the weather was all right. I would be extremely upset if I had to park on their street in bad weather. The final cost for the three of us to stay at the hotel for the weekend was very expensive by my standards.
