“Good food, good times”
Reviewed 5 July 2014 via mobile

Border has a dedicated following. I have college friends who, while living abroad, have requested Visitors to bring Border with them. My brother, who first discovered Border 20 years ago and is now a bona fide foodie, still refers to Border as "the best restaurant ever," and you can't quite tell if he is kidding or not. The food is really good tex-mex or creole, and the atmosphere is a lot of fun. Portions are ample - a quesadilla appetizer for a meal always leaves me with leftovers the next day. The place is appropriately priced, cheap for Harvard Square and the amount of food you get, and the experience fun. Don't go looking for authentic Mexican food - this is not that place. But it is a fun, flavorful, not-cookie-cutter tex-mex place that will leave you with find memories.

“Swingin' food! Worth every penny.”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Try the Black bean and corn empanadas, Gaucho chicken, or the Beef Burro, but plan to ask for half of it to be wrapped for carry-out with the big portion sizes.

“Fun Mexican Food”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Inexpensive, casual and fun are three words to describe "Border Café" just outside Harvard Square.
Always loud, always crowded, the food is consistent, the chips & salsa fresh, the Sangria carries a 'kick' to it and the Margarita's are potent!
Wait staff are friendly, never rushing you even when there is a line out the door(which is often).
A great place to just go for a drink or a pre theater meal or a quick stop for good food/good times when visiting Cambridge.

“Great food, not expensive at all”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We had a party of 38 and the staff handled it very well, except for one meal that was MIA. They eventually got it from the kitchen and didn't charge us....The meals were good sized and hot, and fresh. and it wasn't expensive at all.

“My go-to restaurant. ”
Reviewed 13 June 2014 via mobile

The Border is my restaurant for everything. Girls night out, a date, an evening with the family, whatever. The place serves you hot fresh made tortilla chips and salsa the moment you sit, or while you wait. The waiters are friendly and efficient. I've been going for 19 years and have never once had a single complaint. The food is always cooked right. It's always great. It always comes fast. It's perfect.

Their steak fajitas, Cajun popcorn shrimp and guacamole are to die for. They haven't changed their prices since the 80s, with the most expensive thing on the menu being a DELICIOUS Jim Bowie style filet mignon for $14.

If you're in Boston or Cambridge or even just Massachusetts, GO.
