Looked for a quiet dinner found it. Fine Tandoori, everything else fine. Naan especially good. Good service. Even decent wine. My wife loved the spinach.

“Tried 5 dishes and liked them all”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013 via mobile

I am new to Indian cuisine and enjoyed everything we ordered (except for the marinated pickles which were too salty for any palette). The staff was very nice and helpful. However, the appetizer actually came out after we all had our entrees. We were not sure if this was a tradition, a misunderstanding of the waitress or a mistake. Nonetheless, everyone was happy with their dish. I would definitely go back to try more as there was food from different regions.

“Solid luncheon buffet for the price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 July 2013

Harvard Square has two fine Indian buffet lunches (the nearby Tamarind Bay is the other). The Tanjore buffet offers tandoori chicken and shrimp for carnivores, and a good selection of curries, masalas, and grilled vegetables, with naan, rice, salad, and lots of other tasty stuff to suit your taste and provide variety. I loved the saag paneer. Go before noon for the best selection. For $9, it's really a deal, and they give 10% off if you show your student ID.

“3.5 Authentic & welcoming”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2013

Nice little restaurant across the road from the Harvard Kennedy School with friendly staff and cold beer. Nothing spectactular in the way of curries but quite a decent selection and largish serves. Rice comes with most curries so no need to order any extra. To my palate there was a sweetness in all three curries we ate - part of the Zeppo palate it appears.

“Average Indian”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 December 2012

Let me start by saying that this is a review of the lunch buffet only. I have learned that to get really good Indian food you must order from the menu.

Selection was limited but fairly typical for Boston area Indian. Food was good. The tandoori chicken seemed like it was sitting around too long. They had that dense dessert made from grain and it was very good. Also had the rice/milk/cardamon dessert which was ok. The highlight was an eggplant curry. I missed that they did not have the hot mango chutney. This is the third Indian restaurant I've visited in Boston. Still looking for my "regular" place. Price was $10.95 on weekend. Less on weekdays.

Atomosphere was nothing special. Place seemed clean.
