“Not real Italian”

Read in hotel booklet they were voted #1 in Italian. Obviously they were mistaken just because they use Italian language on the menu does not mean you will be able to choose traditional Italian food. We got up and left.

“Dining at Dante was a treat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Restaurant Dante has many great attributes - a good menu and wine list, great location and fabulous staff!
The outdoor area was perfect for warm summer evenings with a menu that offered local foods, drawing on Italian American experience, served with Italian flare. With a few trips to Italy before dining at Dante, and now living in Tuscany, I was not disappointed by the experience.
With the option of smaller servings, it was easy to enjoy a wider range of the menu, and the evidence of authentic Italian experience Executive Chef, Dante de Magistris, has was savoured in every bite.

“Al fresco treat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

We dined at Dante in June and opted to sit out on the patio. This is a great spot for folks who'd like to see some water (the Charles River) and avoid the hectic scene of the harbor waterfront. As usual, the food was fantastic, especially the salmon and the roasted mushroom side dish. We took advantage of the smaller plate option so that we could try more things. The food at Dante is flavorful, but never seems over-embellished or fussy. We had a somewhat forgetful waiter - knocking the rating down to 4 stars - but the food was fabulous!

“Great dinner but worst tiramisu ever.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Ambiance, food and wine list were quite good. Waiter was ANNOYING with a cheesy cliche Italian Rico Suave schtick that got old VERY fast. Was really looking forward to dessert after a great dinner but it was literally the WORST tiramisu I have ever eaten. If they can improve their desserts they will earn their Zagat rating in my book.

“Loud restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

We must say first off that we loved our server Gianni. My husband got the seafood with zucchini pasta that he loved. I had a pasta dish with mussels. I asked that the chef go light on the garlic. Unfortunately it seemed like all the flavoring was removed, and the dish had tiny red peppers throughout it which were not included on the menu. I truly hate red peppers, but this vegetable appears to be a favorite among U. S. chefs these days. By the end of the meal the bar crowd had taken over this rather small restaurant so we could barely hear each other over our delicious desserts!
