Stayed ten days on business. Convenient location to work and subway ("T") stop. 99% of the staff were kind and considerate. Reported the one exception to management who promised to determine why one front desk guy was having a bad day. Be forewarned. Taxi fares from/to the same airport location are inconsistent.

Room Tip: Back of hotel overlooking Charles River, Boston, and Fenway Park.

10 years ago I also stayed in this hotel and it hadn't changed. Good sized, clean room and this time with an excellent view of the Boston skyline. Efficient check in. Hotel has not its own parking. For $45 per day they will park you car in the adjacent parking. If you do it yourself (very easy) it cost $40 per day. Not a steal!
Indeed very easy to get to down town or Havard with the metro (T). What I really hate is that I still need to pay for WiFi, even if it is just for getting mail on my smartphone. It is almost cheaper to pay the intercontinental roaming rates...
The bed was really comfortable, the bath room rather basic.

Room Tip: High floor rooms ending on 02, 04, 06, 08 for the Boston Skyline view (and a bit of Charles River).

I've stayed here twice and both times were pleasant. Very convenient with metro attached to the hotel. I had a ton of packages shipped here and wasn't charged which was a nice surprise. Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Parking is a bit much at $40 per night and paying for wifi at any 3+ star hotel frustrates me. There are other brands in the same price range, like Kimpton, that do not charge for such incidentals.

Stayed here with a friend - first trip for both of us to Boston. We LOVED this location. Steps away from the Kendall T stop (the T is the best way to get around the city - so convenient and economical), it was easy to stop back at the hotel for a quick change or rest. Samantha at the front desk was pleasant and helpful. The room was clean, large and comfortable. I don't have one negative thing to say about the experience...I will be traveling to Boston for business in the future and told my boss that I would rather stay here than at the Hilton that was closer to the office. There are a few options nearby for breakfast and lunch. As far as location...don't let the negative comments here fool you - there's a lot to see in Boston, and you'll be taking the T all over town anyway! With the Kendall stop right outside the front door you can't beat the convenience. Get off your plane, take the Silver Line to the (South? North? can't remember sorry!) State, buy a pass and go! We bought a 7 day pass for a 4 day trip...it worked out perfectly for our needs. Boston is a walking city, and the T just helps save some steps. Really friends, I loved this Mariott location.

Room Tip: River side is pretty, or over the courtyard/patio

We needed to spend a few days at MIT, so this Marriott, along with its sister property the Residence Inn are good Marriott branded properties. The Kendall Square stop is located next to or across the street (depending on which direction you are going). TIP #1, pls don't take your life into your hands or be at the mercy of the cars; as soon as you push the "walk" button, the light will change ! If you want to visit downtown Boston or go to Fenway, it is a comfortable 30 minute or so walk. We enjoyed going over the bridges, noting the Smoot measure (check out wikipedia for more info). However, if you're going to spend more time on that side of the River, you should book a hotel on that side.

Harvard Square is about 30 minutes away as well.

If you are an elite member of United Airlines, Marriott will match the level. For us, as Million Mile Flyers, this meant access to the Marriott Executive Lounge and free wifi. The Executive Lounge is on the 24th/25th floors. For breakfast from 6:30-9:30, they served scrambled eggs and bacon/sausage, Belgian waffles, other breads, cereals, yogurt, fresh cut fruits (melons, pineapples, strawberries), milk and the usual hot breakfast beverages.

In the evenings, there are two hot dishes. One night was vegetarian ravioli and vegetable spring rolls; another night was chicken and rice and pasta with meatballs, along with cheese and crackers from 5:30-7:30. At 7:30, the fresh baked cookies come out along with a baked goodie such as red velvet cake or key lime pie. Soft drinks are complimentary, but alcohol is on the honor system. While we were there, the staff also hosted a wine and cheese reception on the 26th floor

Since the lounge is closed after Friday breakfast and doesn't open until Sunday evening, elites will be given coupons to Champions. Ordinarily this means a free continental buffet breakfast, but for whatever reason, we were invited to partake of the entire buffet, including the omelet station. The service was good and the staff welcoming.

The room has been updated a bit, although the halls look like they were older. Not meaning that it is dirty or dingy, but it looks like a modernization of an old building. The bathroom was a decent size, tub/shower combination with the sink out side of the tub/shower/toilet so two people can easily share the space.

The bed was comfortable and the room a nice size including a desk, sofa and coffee table; we had a nice view of the Charles River.

For us, I would say the property was pretty close to a 5; but since the location probably won't suit the average tourist due to its location, I had to decrement it a bit, even though it is very convenient to the T. (We had difficulties getting / adding to the Charley card at this station)

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the Charles River are certainly more scenic, but often there is a surcharge for th...

Although he had settled into Columbia Law School, my son was accepted off the wait list for Harvard Law. We rented a U-Haul and drove from Manhattan to Boston. Who knew the hotel parking was underground and the U-Haul would not fit? The staff of the Cambridge Marriott were wonderful. Even though it was incredibly busy with freshman for Harvard and MIT, they found time to help us. I would like to personally thank Assedge, who went out of his way to find a spot to park the truck. He was a life saver. We had a room on the 19th floor overlooking the Charles River. It was absolutely beautiful! The hotel is walking distance to MIT but over a mile to Harvard, we took cabs. Thank you to the staff of the Cambridge Marriott for your warm welcome! You made what was a frantic few days, very lovely.

Room Tip: Get a room high and on the side of Charles River, you won't regret it.
