“Great view of the Charles and more!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

Have stayed here several times but this was the first visit since the renovation and we loved it. Modern and clean with a good gym and walkable to several of the universities and walkable distance to Boston right over the bridge. The bar is FANTASTIC and complete with the wise cracks of the snarky Bostonian bartender. The view is the most amazing and it is worth paying extra for a view of the river where you can watch the crew teams go up and down all day. Will definitely return!

Room Tip: Pay extra for a view of the river. Definitely worth it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge. At first I was worried that I would be too far removed from the city but the hotel has a shuttle service that connects with public transportation and nearby points of interest. The hotel is quiet, clean, and relaxing. Every member of the staff was kind and courteous.

Pros
- 1 mile from MIT and 1.5 mile from Harvard..u could walk to MIT
- right on the Charles river
- complimentary shuttle service
- good restaurant
- most of the staff are great, specially Tim who mans the front gate and coordinates shuttles etc
- taxis available right at the door step

Cons
- quite pricey - $35 for overnight parking, $13 for wifi, $19 for breakfast, $35 for a room with a view of the Charles river
- I was given a double bed room; didn't find it as per 4 star standards; although it was very neat and clean...

Net net I had hoped to be spoiled more for the price I paid for the hotel..but having stayed at the residence inn Cambridge before, I would rate it better

I stayed at the Hyatt during a conference in Boston just across the street. Indeed, location is suboptimal if you are a lazy walker. And the garage is expensive if you have a car. However, if you like to walk, it is not too bad. Note, however, that it is optimally located between MIT and BU.

My room had a view of the exercise room... At first I thought this might be good, because facing the back might mean less noise from the street. This was not the case. The bell man downstairs at the car park blows the whistle as if he is being chased by an angry mob. So that got a little annoying.

Sleep quality is excellent with an extremely comfortable mattress. Big plus, thanks Hyatt. The shower is great with a glass door (no splash, all the fun). Overall the room was great, except for the lack of a refrigerator. Housekeeping was irksome: Just. Don't. Touch. My. Stuff. Ever. Ever.

Otherwise things rather overpriced: 500ml H20 in the room for USD2? Whoa! Better walk to the gas station. Note also, that a Trader Joes is nearby. Just sayn...

Room Tip: Pick a room away from the elevators and high up for better sleep quality.

Green Features: Fresh towels each day. Can't call them anything else other than environmental piglets (they did have recycling cans).

This is a great Hyatt location to stay. The rooms are nice and have that modern feel. Great view of the River and customer service is great! Id prefer this spot over the other Hyatts in the Downtown Boston area based solely on the quality of what you pay for. Its a bit less than the other Boston Hyatt's and the quality is better in my opinion.

The hotel is very old. We are paying $ 280 per night + $48 per day for the Valet parking. When I checked in at 10 pm, there is really no Valet person and Porter there at all. The room is old. It is just not worth for the money. Next morning, I can hear the noise from Hall since one of my rooms is next to Crow's Next (a open leisure space for everybody). Then, the breakfast is not good at all. The line of the Omelet station is long........(at least 10 people there). They do not care. There is only one person cooking the Omelet. And, they do not replenish the food quickly. I did not get a chance to have some fruits while I was there.

My husband had a conference at MIT, and I went with him both to relax and to get my own work done. We had a lovely experience at the Hyatt Regency. Everyone was friendly and kind, and the hotel itself is attractive. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the bed is extremely comfortable. The swimming pool is beautiful, with a retractable ceiling above it. The meals in the restaurant were excellent, and the service was first rate.
