“Very CLEAN HI Express in Boston”
Reviewed 18 August 2008

What a beautiful suite we had! I have spent 25 yrs in the hotel industry, but I was pleasantly surprised at our suite! CLEAN everywhere! The suites are beautifully appointed with subtle colors, a selection of pillows ( hard and soft), oversized desks, comfy club chairs, refrigerators, microwaves and coffeemakers. The bath is fitted with the new curved shower bars allowing for a spacious shower, and the new shower head was great. The shampoo & conditioner were spa quality, and the thick, fluffy immaculate toweling was new. Breakfast was way more than we needed, big selection...you name it, they had it. Very courteous staff at the desk and attending breakfast. We will make this our new hotel in Boston while visiting family. This hotel is very well managed and run, KUDOS to all!!!!!

This was a convenient hotel for visiting cambridge and boston and is much cheaper than staying in a downtown boston hotel. When I booked through the hotel the reservation clerk gave me inaccurate information. She told me that she was giving me a double bed room because if she gave me two queen beds I would lose the frig and microwave. When I actually checked in the desk clerk (who was great) told me I was booked for two king beds and that every single room has a frig and microwave. (what hotel was that girl working in?). She also told me that they never run out of free parking because "no one drives to Boston" which was also not true. If you arrive at night be prepared to park in a lot across the highway which the hotel does not own so you are required to move your car by 8:00 AM. The hotel itself has very limited parking -I arrived at 2:00 PM so I was lucky to get a parking spot (one of the last few available).
I used public transportation only so I never lost my parking spot and the hotel does let you stay in your spot until 3 PM the day you check out which is great for getting extra sightseeing in before you leave.
The breakfast is good though the egg items are pre-cooked. There are plenty of other things to eat-bagels, cereal, yogurt, fruit, etc.
You must eat early though- breakfast is from 6-10 AM.
Transportation is great- the lechmere stop on the T is only 4 blocks away and some bus lines run from there. If you are going to visit MIT you should walk -it only takes 20 minutes -much faster than taking two T lines (green and red).
If you want to go to Harvard Square don't bother with the T -you can take the #69 bus from Lechmere station. -relaxing ride on Cambridge street -no transferring to two different trains.
There are a couple of local restaurants -a McDonalds next door, Dunkin Donuts next door and Papa Ginos -all fast food. The Cambridgeside Galleria mall is a short walk away and has a food court- California Pizza Kitchen and Cheesecake Factory.
$170 a night is expensive for what the hotel offers but you won't find anything cheaper that is as convenient as this one.

This is a good hotel, clean, beds are very comfortable. The front desk staff (Dan??) was phenominal, very accomodating and helpful with directions, recommendations, etc. They do give free parking and free breakfast, breakfast is nothing spectacular but certainly adequate to start the day. They offer cereal, yogurts, bagels and toast, plus some type of egg and meat item pre-cooked. Coffee served 24 hours. The neighborhood is not that great, but we did feel safe there. However, it's only a three block walk to the T and from there you can get anywhere in Boston for $2.00 or a day pass for $9.00. We walked back to the hotel late at night and it was fine, lots of people out, so we did feel safe. BTW, it is a $14.00 cab ride from Fenway Park to the hotel, for those Sox fans who are interested. GO SOX!!

This place was OK for a night or two. The service ranged from excellent (morning staff) to only OK (afternoon staff). The complimentary parking, internet, and breakfast go a long way in recommending this place. In terms of location, it's good if you plan to go downtown to see most historic sites, but other parts of Cambridge (Harvard area, etc.) are a very long walk or long subway ride away. There aren't many good restaurants within close walking distance, and my room was a bit grubby, but I only paid about $129 for it. I wouldn't want to pay more than that.

Great location for walking to lots of things- near a grocery store, park and lots of cute local restaurants! Downtown Boston just 15 min walk- I would recommend a stroller for the young ones, though, because very busy streets to walk along, or walk just 3 short blocks to the train and take that into the city. The hotel was nice- room was adequate-updated bedding and shower. Front desk was helpful with directions and housekeeing did a good job daily. Overall a good experince-even with 2 small toddlers!

The hotel is only a few trains stops to downtown Boston, which was really cool. The parking sucks, had to park across a highway at some abandonded lot. The 24 hr Mcdonalds right behind the hotel was cool when we came in late after partying all night. Took forever to check in. The room was really clean. Over all I was really happy with this place and would definitely stay there again.

After a 7 hour flight the last thing that you need is to find that your hotel was double booked. To be fair the Hotel was booked Centrally within the UK.
We were expected ,but given a smoking room (didnt know until we went to the room) long story short no non smoking rooms available for our planned three night stay. By the time that we had questioned the room the staff had changed, the guy on the desk was very very apologetic and sympathetic. He was also very helpful and "recommended" the Hampton down the road (if they had any rooms). No way were we going to stay in a smoking room after booking a non smoking room. I did read somewhere that this Hotel had been refurbished in 2007 more likely 1907. The foyer and floor that we were allocated were very "stressed" and "tired". The area is ok fine for the subway/downtown had no problems walking around.
All in all stay at the Hampton just down the road slightly more expensive but worth very cent
