You arrive at the hotel after a uphill serpentine road in beautiful scenery.
Entering the property is impressive with the tree alley. Then the first view on the in-court, the chapel and all these massive pots with tons of flowers. You are totally charmed.
Courteous reception team ... cleand and simple rooms.
Views are stunning. And the " sound of silence " is magic !

Found this jewel by surprise, on the internet the nightbefore and it was much more beautiful when we saw it. We had a puppy with us and everyone was welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent, the views are stunning, the rooms are simple and clean and with all the amenities and beautiful terraces with wonderful views. The staff were very helpful and kind, the whole place is magical in that one can tell that there is great attention to detail. The natural reserve is clean and a delight to walk there.
Hope to visit again. I would highly recommend this Hotel to everyone who wants to see and feel the Italian hospitality, beauty and pride. The town of Sirolo is also endearing.

Room Tip: All the rooms !

The hotel is on Monteconero, above Sirolo. It is a second and third gear climb on a good road for several kilometers. The hotel itself is a converted abbey with a delightful Romanesque church in the center courtyard. Many of the rooms have stunning views looking south down the Adriatic coast, as well as towards the interior and distant mountains. While most rooms have smaller balconies, 224 has a decent size terrace. The room itself is adequately sized, clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. For example, they hunted up a plug adaptor for us as ours didn't fit their outlets. Our room was on the entry level and I did not see an elevator to the upper floor, so do not know if there is or is not one. Parking is outside the abbey gate. For us the real treat was being able to enter San Pietro church several times and just enjoy its architecture. The hotel has a good restaurant where we had a number of seafood dishes over several days. All good. For what you get, this is reasonably priced.

Ok, so you .... you're probably touring around, have a vehicle, maybe a motorcycle ... you're going to Ancona to catch the ferry OR you're travelling up the coast of Italy with no real plans (Italy is wonderful that way). You find this hotel online, maybe see in a brochure ... and it sounds great, so you call and book the room. You pass Ancona, go up the mountain, and by the 4th or 5th switch-back you're wondering if you're on the right road ... by the 10th switch-back you wonder if you're being "punked" by Garmin. Then you see the entrance, and the first word that comes to mind is "stately". The hotel is truly a gem. The rooms are better than basic, homely, everything is clean and works well. Dogs welcome! The food is excellent and well priced, and if not at the hotel then at the pub down the lane. WiFi worked well, free parking. This is a very good hotel. Now, a word on the view ... it is one of those views that makes you stand on the balcony having forgotten you're not wearing clothes, it is THAT distracting. You will not only remember this hotel, it's the hotel that will spring to mind during any conversation about Italy.

Room Tip: Yes, I will say it ... as for a "Room with a View" ... cliched but so very true in this case.

Whilst the room we had was a little basic, and there is a bit of faded grandeur about the place, this is a very special and lovely hotel. The views are stunning, really beautiful, the hotel is comfortable and homely, and the beaches nearby are great too (steep climb so get fit for before you get here!). The food is also fantastic, we ate here every night for a week and it was spot on every time.

But best of all, you will not find staff as welcoming, genuine, kind and helpful anywhere in Italy. So much so that any other blip is forgotten very quickly!

A fantastic place, so few English too so don't tell too many people back in Blighty!
