Description: An exemplary restaurant, with splendid view over the bay, which manages to deliciously blend the extraordinary flavours of Sardinian cuisine into creative dishes which are the fruit of a careful selection made from the available local products. For lunch, during the summer months, you may find tasty and friendly refreshment at the terrace bar, which offers anything from simple salads to more elaborate fish-based dishes, and the one thousand different flavours of our original "pantofole" ('slippers').

“Great views pity about the food”
Reviewed 15 September 2013

We went for a family dinner for four. The view was fabulous. The service was fairly good.

But the food was a disappointment. This is a speciality fish place (there are alternatives) but filling a plate with bits of crustacean shell does not necessarily create good food. And if you are going to serve claws then provide the tools to break and eat their contents.

It is far from cheap. Excluding wines (and they have some very good wines) the food for four with two courses for three people and only one person having a dessert came to about 180 Euros- and it came to 260 euros with the good bottle of wine we enjoyed. Add a respectable tip for service and the bill is quite high. For that money the food has to be as good as the view - and it isn't.

So go for the views and enjoy them.

“Romantic anniversary dinner”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

Wonderful and delicious anniversary dinner! The black tagliolini pasta with shrimp and pancetta were wonderful! Spectacular view on the gulf of Porto Frailis. Just so special! I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion or just to pamper oneself in the ogliastra area!

“Great view but very average food!”
Reviewed 26 May 2013

The view is certainly amazing at this place...
However, despite that we heard positive things from locals about this restaurant, I was disappointed.
The entry plate was nice, nothing to say.
For the main dish I ordered "Fried mixed fish with vegetables", and was very surprised to get... a plate of sea food!!! Definitely confusing name in the menu...
The cheesecake from the desert was also average.
Quite disappoiting experience for a 4 stars hotel restaurant...

“The cold shoulder in the restaurant if you are a non resident..”
Reviewed 15 May 2013

We were not staying at the hotel so cann't really advise on that aspect other than to say hotel is on the small town beach of Porto Frallis, which is the beach side of Arbatax. The restaurant however......

We were off season so it was not busy so we shown to a table quickly. However, the front row of tables overlooking the sea were reserved for residents: fair enough. We waited. We waited and waited. The four tables infront of us were all served before us even through we were there before then. Waiters just kept walking past us so we got up to leave which kind of forced some service. This soured the evening so I cann't really remember much about the meal. Requested the bil and waited some more. Eventually got the bill and left. In 2 words: slow and unmemorable. Might be worth stopping overnight if doing a motoring tour but not much longer.

“Bag of sugar flavoured with coffee - worth ice coffee ever?”
Reviewed 24 September 2012

When in Arbatax we stopped for an afternoon coffee and I ordered an ice coffee - it was the sweetest thing I ever drunk. Or rather attempted to drink.

The service was good but neither myself nor my partner were impressed with the beverages.

Location is convenient by a sandy beach though.
