We stayed there last year in September, the hotel is average, i thouht it was quite expensive when i booked it, but when we got there we realised everything was expensive. We had breakfast included, but the food was not great, not much of a choice. We did not have a sea-view room, but people were saying that it is worth paying extra to get the sea view. The staff were not very friendly, but they were not rude either. We had dinner there, i would recommend the mussels soup, it was very nice! It was not a bad hotel, but i would not go there again.

Stayed there in the past week -- had a gorgeous time. The rooms were very clean, and the location was ideal -- just across from the port and beach. Get a room with a sea view -- it is worth the small extra charge. The receptionist was very, very friendly. We had some drinks at the bar by the seaside -- very good drinks, at a reasonable price. It was early in the season, and they had blankets to keep you warm.

From the start to the end of our trip we never got one smile from a lady receptionist who claims to be the owner of the hotel. Simple requests such as the wifi passwords and room turnover were met with remarkably rude one word replies accompanied with rolling eyes!

One evening we experienced something we've never seen before in any hotel - this same lady was shouting on top of her lungs at several tourists who were not even shouting back. From what we can decipher it had something to do with late check ins. Regardless, it's completely unbecoming of anyone in the service industry to do what she did.

It's a shame that she's the owner of this hotel when she is, hands down, the rudest among all the staff at the hotel (who were very nice in contrast) and possibly the rudest person we've met in the hospitality industry. She taints the name of Sardina, an otherwise lovely and very beautiful place.

Also, we can hear endless commotion in the wee hours of the morning from our room (non seaview) - sleep did not come easy.

Why did I state that this is the worst accommodation for us? Because it's the first time ever that we have been shouted at by a receptionist, who is also owner of the hotel, by the way, and wrongly accused. What a nightmare!

This was what transpired. We made a dinner booking at an agriturismo recommended by the hotel the day before with the curly-haired lady at the reception, whom we later found out that she was also the owner. On the day of the dinner, we returned to the hotel after a day-long visit to the gorge and requested for the owner to inform the agriturismo that we're running late and would be there an hour later. She agreed, though you could tell she wasn't pleased. The next day, we asked if she could contact the agriturismo for us as we were returning there for lunch and wanted to speak with them to discuss the menu. She screamed her head off at us for not showing up for dinner the night before and said no way was she going to call them for us because we are such rude people. She said she "tried to be nice" by helping us change the dinner time and we didn't show up. We were shocked by her accusation because it was so untrue and we had a wonderful time with the hosts of the agriturismo at dinner and had promised them to return again for lunch. She refused to listen and kept insisting that we ruined her name by not showing up for dinner and shouted at us for a good 5 mins before starting again when my husband asked why she was being so rude and making ridiculous accusations. She shouted at us for another 5 mins then stormed off. Huh?!!

I think if you can't deal with guests' requests or last minute changes, then you shouldn't be in the hospitality industry. We spent a good 5-6 hours hiking the gorge only to return to the hotel, exhausted and drained, and be shouted at by the owner.

Having just read other bad reviews of this hotel, I know I'm not alone in feeling this way about the owner. She needs to do something about her character before she destroys her own name through her own actions. She needs to start with the basics - welcoming guests with a smile. Another downside to this hotel is also the thin walls. We had our worst sleep here because you can hear what goes on downstairs and in the corridors.

So our conclusion is - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVEN IF IT'S THE LAST PLACE ON EARTH. Our entire trip in Sardinia was tainted through this one person. Everyone else we met along the way was gracious, kind and generous in many ways. Even her staff and fellow colleagues were nice. What a shame...

We stayed at the Hotel Cala Luna for three nights in September 2012. Having been recommended by a friend we knew it would be good, but when we arrived and realised it was directly facing the beach and had a view out across the bay and the port - we were very pleased! Our room, 76 on the third floor, was gorgeous and had a perfectly sized balcony where we enjoyed (well priced) wine from the hotel restaurant and cheese from the supermarket two minutes walk away. We enjoyed sunrise direct from our window each morning - even from our bed! Absolutely stunning! They do a boat trip which you must go on, €40 for the day. They do need six people to be able to run it though, and on our trip they didn't have enough. Big tip though, don't book alternative boat trips through the tourist offices at the port, go to Pop Hotel behind the port. We asked if we could join their trip and they had two spaces left! €35 with a delicious cheese and tomato roll and water for lunch! The talented skipper took us out in his speedboat and we visited all the little beaches and caves along the coast, and even stopped for a glass of vino en route. Amazing day! Back to the hotel, the included buffet breakfast was delicious and included perfect scrambled egg, cheese, ham, salami, rolls, cake, fruit - and you could eat all al fresco listening to the sound of the ocean and watching the sunrise. Oh also, three beautiful beaches to choose from on your doorstep. Great hotel, friendly staff, great location. The drive to the area was stunning too. I am not easily pleased and rarely write reviews - but this place is a winner!

This was our third year staying at this hotel. Every year the hotel continues to make improvements to it's infrastructure and to the services that it offers. I am happy to say that we always find all of the staff VERY friend and kind despite the fact we speak extremely limited Italian. They are always friendly and welcoming.
While parking is on the street, in 3 years of being there, for 10 days each time, we have never once had a problem finding parking and only one night have had to pay for a parking spot. All of the spots we have found are within 100m of the hotel.
The dinner service at the hotel is great and chef does a fantastic job with the food.
This really is a great hotel - both the hotel location and the wonderful people who work there.

Room Tip: All rooms are very nice but the ocean front rooms are well worth the smal extra cost.

We arrived for a four night stay in the middle of ferraagosto - European summer holidays centering on the traditional August 15 festive day. The hotel is situated conveniently opposite the beach and close to both the town conveniences such as the tourist office and the tabacchi as well as the bars, restaurants and beach areas in the other direction.

The staff, mostly young women, were friendly and glad to try speaking English, even when they didn't know it well, with at least one member speaking very good English. The hotel interior and exterior was nicely presented and even a little bit cool and funky with modern abstract art on the walls, nice high ceilings like most buildings in southern Europe and was clean and modern, with card access to rooms equipped with electronic do no disturb displays.

The breakfast was good too - delicious Italian cakes and cornetti (filled croissants), cereals, every flavour of yoghurt you could hope for - including coffee! - and preserved fruit to go with it, and English-style boiled and scrambled eggs and toast, as well as, certo! - Italian coffee made to order and brought to your table. The girls serving breakfast weren't quite as friendly as the front desk staff, but they were fine.

Unfortunately, there is no dedicated hole parking, and it is very difficult to get one of the free spaces in the side streets, but parking directly out the front was 6 euros a day, so not exorbitant, plus the reception staff will happily provide you with change for the machine.

You can also conveniently book a boat trip on the "puma" to the area's beaches at reception, and the price at 45 euros a head for the whole day compares well with the competitor companies situated at the port. The hotel will also provide a packed lunch, if requested, for 8 euros a head, comprising of two filled rolls - delicious! - fruit, cheese and lovely cold bottled water, in your choice of still or sparkling.

I would definitely return and recommend this hotel to others.
