“Worst than expected :(”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

It was late evening, when we decided to find this restaurant in Castelsardo old city (by the way old city is fantastic!!!), but I need to say that we were very dissapointed about service & food quality. You shouldn't go there, if You want try specialities of Sardinia as well. Spagetti with seafood was worst I ever ate. Dessert was like 3-4 cooky from the box. Not value for money at all.

“Excellent food”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

On the advice of the waiter we had the fish antipasti and then a whole fish cooked at the chefs preference. I am very close to giving this meal 5 stars it was just a little expensive for what we expected having ordered not from the menu but because the meal was meant to be good price (ultimately €100 for two). The antipasti were really lovely, the octopus and fish with cheese a real highlight (a combination I love but not often seen overseas). The whole fish was really tender, cooked in a huge amount of deliciously sweet cherry tomatoes and then expertly filleted in front of us by our waiter. We then had 2 glasses of aperitifs to finish (and a bottle of wine as well). As I said, fantastic meal, so close to 5* but not convinced 100% value for money based on prices of other establishments and meals.

“Terrific food! Great service!”
Reviewed 23 April 2014 via mobile

What a find tucked in next to the amazing castle in this lovely seaside town. Friendly and attentive, the staff was wonderful and the food was just as good. The house wine was tasty and the pasta was among the best I had on the island. The eggplant was also very good. We sat outside on a perfect day and just enjoyed the day.

“Not a place for non Italian tourists”
Reviewed 25 August 2013

The most disgusting meal we have had during our 2 week stay. We were put at the back of the restaurant at a cramped table. Made to order what they told us to despite us saying we were happy to wait for the food. The owner was rude and unattentive. I really wouldn't suggest that non Italian tourists go here... They don't value your business and will treat you badly. The food took ages and the pasta was the worst I have EVER tasted. Castelsardo is an average town and I would give it a skip.

“absolutely fantastic”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

this is a tiny restaurant in the old town and is fantastic. The service was amazing and nothing is too much trouble - there was a table next to us with some children who wanted Pizza. Le Cisterne does not do pizzas so the owner went to another restaurant and got them a pizza. The food was wonderful - carpaccio of tuna followed by prawns cooked in a incredibly rich tomato sauce. It was also very good value - in fact it was all excellent.
