We had no idea that this facility is only one section and two floors of "inn". The rest of the building is conference rooms and dorm rooms. The facility is clean and presents well. The complimentary breakfast is weak at best. At lunch it took too long to have our salads presented to us. They tasted good, just too much time. The lobster roll we ordered from the bar tasted simply like lobster only and was shredded not chunks of lobster. Upon returning from our work obligations several nights the conference room was hosting several events and there were no parking spots available for guests. The person at the front desk told me to drive down the street and park around the corner. Then I would have had to walk back to the hotel with my computer and work materials in 28 degree weather - UNACCEPTABLE! Better planning is needed for facility guests and their parking needs. I requested a refrigerator and it froze everything I put in it even after adjusting the controls. I requested a replacement refrigerator and it did the same thing. Keeping curtains closed was the only way to keep the cold air from coming in through the windows. I agree with another reviewer - the heating unit in the room is very loud. Know that maneuvering around the streets of Lowell is quite confusing even with a GPS in hand. Overall, with the hotel offerings in Lowell this is just ok.

I was staying here overnight for a dance competition and was very happy with everything up until I laid my head on the pillow. About 12:00 at night a bunch of young men began very loudly laughing and talking in the halls. Then a a series of people began walking the halls and opening and closing doors at the end of the hall. I poked my head out and asked a young man to keep it down, and he was very polite saying he would. It did quiet for a couple of hours but at about 3:30 things got rolling even worse. We couldn't get the front desk and got the campus police instead. Then the front door clerk came up knocking on doors, looking for the perpetrators. Due to the constant traffic and doors slamming we suspected drug dealing or at least a huge party.

It is too bad because this seems like a very nice place, conveniently located in the center of Lowell near lots of restaurants, but until they get security tightened up there I would avoid this place like the plague if you plan to do any sleeping.

Room is clean but ac/heater very loud! Beds comfortable. Bathroom small, with no hair dryer. No ice machine on 2nd floor. No room service. Waited 20 minutes at restaurant to be seated to finally leave and call take out. Waiter kept looking at us but never walked over to seat us. Ok hotel for one night, I wouldn't stay any longer.

The Inn is excellent value for the Boston area. Rooms of this size are typically close to $150 per night. Good value

Restaurant is high-quality. In the winter the days of operation are reduced to Thursday through Sunday.

Our rooms have always been extremely clean.

Staff is very helpful
.
There are many attractions in the local area: National Park Service and New England Quilt Museum.

Stayed at the hotel Oct 2 - Oct 6. Problem checking in - they cancelled my reservation. Put us in room 230 - a handicap room that was noisy due to the studends dorms above. Was moved to first floor (rm 131) with a lot of complaining to manager. This room's bathroom has mold in the bathroom above the shower. Friday and Saturday nights at the hotel was very noisy, coming from the hallway and adjorning room. Complained to front desk but little was done,
When checking out they wanted to charge us an additional $115 dollars, saying room 131 was an upgraged room costing more. On the positive side, I told them no way and they backed down.

This hotel is not run like chain hotels were service is a priority.

Resturant was good but pricey and few other guest. We liked the fact it was empty and private.

The UMass Lowell Inn is not bad. The rooms are quite, clean and the beds are comfortable. The overall look at feel of the hotel has been updated and the food is great.

Although, I'm not sure why they went through the expense of the upgrades but yet didn't upgrade the shower tile as it is old and the grout is missing.

Me and my family stayed here for the baystate marathon. This was the host hotel and would recommend it. Convenient location to the area. The rooms were nice. The girl at the counter was super nice and very helpful in pointing us where to eat as we were from put of state. Only recommendation would be to have some simple bagels/fruit for runners an hour before start. Restaurant in the hotel was fine.
