We arrived extremely late at Domue Luna (2.15am ) and yet there was a real friendly welcome .That set the tone for our stay.Lovely friendly staff who got it just right ,they were there if you needed them and it really felt like home from home . Our room was spacious, excellent en-suite and air conditioning. Breakfast fabulous. The terrace was just lovelyand theres a real family feel to the place ..the kitten in the garden was an added attraction !

We had a great time in Domu'e Luna. Our late arrival (at 10:30PM) was just in time for the late pizza in house pizzeria. A very delicious one. Staff was extremely helpful and welcoming.
Seven days later, on our way back to Cagliari airport, the last thing to do was to take a detour and visit Domu'e Luna... just to take one more pizza.

Domu e luna is a brilliant B&B with the friendliest of staff who tried to help us with our appalling Italian. The breakfast is a feast, My boyfriend who is a vegitarian never went hungy as their spread was very well varied. The hotel is comfortable and the rooms large and very good value. We didn't even struggle to find it as most people did. The pub just down the road is also very friendly and a great place to eat or have a drink. We would throughly recommend Domu e luna to everyone

My wife and I had the best breakfast we've ever had here at the Domu'e Luna. It was the low season so we had the place to ourselves. The buffet at our table was outstanding. I would definitely returnto Sardinia just to stay here again!

It is hard to find at night. Just be prepared to call them and have them guide you in.

If you want to go to Sardinia and know the real Sardinia and not the commercial Sardinia of the so expensive beaches, than Domu`e Luna is a fantastic choice. You have a great room, big, rustic, nice bath and a Breakfast above italian standarts. The owners, Ester and Niccolá are very helpful if you ask them some advices, but not that kinf of persons always around you trying to send you to this or that place.
We stayed here for three nights in the twenties of August and we had a problem: the "trattoria" that had so good reviews were close for holidays, and there are no more restaurants in Lunamatrona, except the pizzeria, wich we tried and is very good but only sells pizzas. Because of this Ester gave us some indications: we went to Albergo Sa Lolla in Barumini and had a great and cheap dinner. If you try this one, notice that all the the menu is very well served, with lots of food. In another night we went to a pizzeria in Sanluri, named Rosy (don`t confuse with the hotel with the same name), but that was not so good).
Near The B&B is a public garden with a "Kiosk". This Summer the Kiosk was a very nice bar with "esplanada" in the night. The drinks were cheap (a 66cl beer costed €2), so if you are a poor traveler like myself can go there after dinner and have a couple of them. They also had live music, not very good, but it was very nice (I guess we were the only tourists there and everybody was great with us).
You already might Know if you go to Lunamatrona, but please don`t miss the nuragic place "su nuraxi" in Barumi, 15 minutes driving. It was the best nuragic place I visited in Sardinia.
Another place near is "miniature sardinia"(or something like it). Don`t expect too much of this place.
One last help: when trying to find the B&B ask for the road to Barumi, it`s near. Nobody seemed to Know the place for the name Domu`e Luna, but if you ask for Ester Garau, everybody will tell you where it is.

This is really a beautiful place to stay in Sardinia. The rooms are clean, spacious and stylish, with fresh flowers and drinking water for welcome. There were some minor problems in the bathroom but none serious. Large breakfast with home-made traditional food was served in a traditionally decorated living room. You can also order a traditional dinner for about 25 euro p.p. - could be nice and interesting but we didn't try it. The staff is really nice and helpful.
For late dinner there is always a pizzeria a few steps away with excellent and cheap pizza and a bar (didn't like their fish of the day, the other food was o.k.)
The location is great if you have a car - close to the nature and historic trails (nuraghi) and beautiful villages and not far from the beaches around Cabras, San Giovanni di Sinis with the ancient site of Tharros.

  • Liked — Traditionally decorated rooms.
  • Disliked — Bathroom would need to renew a little.
