This small cool apartment in Porto Rotondo suited us perfectly. The spacious patio was lovely, private, and being on the first (top) floor always breezy with plenty of sun and shade. Although it was July we missed the heatwaves! There was an air conditioner in the main room, but we found the overhead fans sufficient. The kitchen/living room area was basic but quite adequate for simple meals, there was more than enough crockery, cutlery and pans. There was also a sofa bed which we didn't use. There is a tall fridge and a little, very effective, electric espresso coffee machine. The washing machine in the bathroom seemed quite old and I wouldn't have known how to use it, but we didn't need it anyway. The bedroom had lots of hanging/storage and the bed was very comfortable. There are lots of spaces on site for cars. The free bus which travels regularly from one headland to another all day (from early until after midnight) stops at the entrance to the residences, and travels to the main beaches, and near enough to the harbour and all its restaurants in the evenings. The apartment is very close to restaurants, supermarket, patisseries, even the police station is nearby. If you don't want to do any sightseeing, you could manage without a car. There does seem to be a bus from Olbia, and the flat is conveniently situated at the entrance to Porto Rotondo. You will pay €50/40 a day to hire an umbrella and loungers at any beach, but there are restaurants by the beach where you can sit (buying food and drinks) and use the beach. It's quite casual. The beaches are crowded in July, but still very pleasant. The sea in Porto Rotondo was crystal clear and wonderful to swim in. We did quite a bit of sightseeing round the north of the island and over to Alghero, and we were very glad to be staying in this place. It's so conveniently near to Olbia Aiport. All in all we had a great time. With thanks to the owner Simone who answered all my questions, and to Daniela who met us immediately we arrived and showed us round (using English, French and Italian!). We would go again!
