This is a beautiful hotel in a stunning location. We stayed on the Licciola side and our room was lovely with a great bathroom and a fantastic view. Plenty of choice for eating so you get a lot of variety. The service was excellent without being over the top. The resort is more laid back than in some other 5 star hotels but few hotels have the combination of beaches and coves with super snorkelling, kayaks, boat excursions, choice of swimming pools and restaurants that this has. All in all a fabulous holiday and we will be going back.

we booked this resort because we have been in Isola Rossa at a 4 star hotel from the same chain
and we found the experience to be very good. The price of Delphina was over our budget but we booked anyway. WE booked for 2 adult and 2 kids on their web site for a Mirtilla and changed in a Licciola Junior suite because could accomodate a 5th little bed for my nephew . The price I was told few days before arriving for the 5th bed was higher that the one I understood on the phone months before when I was talking with the booking employee. I was not happy but I had the flight booked for all of us so the 5 of us went anyway. Also they told me on the phone there was no problem for a 5th bed but few days before arriving they were giving me hard time from the booking office to add a little couch bed. I decided to talk to the manager as I arrived and as I'm an Italian living in Canada I would expect a classic italian answer as " sorry there is nothing that we can do this is the way it works" . BY my surprise the staff was very friendly and brought my issue to the attention of Giuseppe and he spoke to the general manager Antonio which he gave me a better deal on some other extras to accomodate my complain. Not only but the room had an amazing view and was very spacious. Food was incredible at the restaurant Buffet Le Bouche ( two different fresh fish every night ), pool were amazing and I did not mind the bigger sandy beach ( easy to clean towels and does not fly with the wind). We'll come back for sure in the future.

Room Tip: Licciola suite 175 had an amazing view.

Beautiful spot but very average rooms. We were in a new section, but some piece of furniture were broken, TV was not functioning... Internet is not working. At a dial up speed and not all the time and only outside on the terrace!
We were on a suite at a ground level. We could her every little step of the rooms above us! And the construction was 1 or 2 years old!
Very disappointing.

I do totally agree with the many previous comments stating that this hotel is not quite a 5 star.

However, we were quite relieved not to have the "full drama" of 5 star hotels, as it was ment to be relaxing familly holidays! I will say that the small imperfections (noisy air conditionning, etc.) is quite typical of italian charm, and we loved it.

We stayed for 10 nights at the very beginning of July with a 5y boy in a Junior suite on the Licciola part. The total number of room of the resort is 260, but they are located in a vast resort in one or two storey buildings. The hotel is quite and you don't feel the crowd (excepted maybe at dinner time!)

Our boy didn't wanted to join the kids club, but he was friendly invited by the staff to join for games.

As mentioned, the resort is very big (almost 5 ha) and despite the offered shuttles between the various part of the resort, I would not recommend this hotel for someone with limitated mobility. On the other hand, if you are a runner, don't forget your trainers for a morning run !

Although we are very demanding guest when food is concerned, we where very impressed by the quality of the buffet. It offers a large choice of fesh food, vegetables, fish, meat as well a very delicated starters. However, children will have no problem finding something to eat!

I also tested the spa, that was ok (no specific complaint, but not exceptionally impressed).

The service is very efficient, the staff is friendly and helping.

I will definetely recommend this place for a family stay, but I would avoid the high season (15.07 to end of August) as it might be very crowed!

Plus: On the day of our arrival (around noon) the room was not ready and we were invited for lunch to wait.

Minus: the price of the extras is on 5 stars standard.

Room Tip: Junior suite advisable if you share with a child, although, don't expect privacy, as there is no...

Every year we book a nice 5 stars hotel for our summer holidays. We have been in many fantastic luxury hotels in Italy and we have never been disappointed, except this year. We decided to visit Sardinia despite the fact we could not find a 5 stars hotel for less than 800 Euro a night in the beginning of July.
We chose Valle Dell'Erica because the spot looked very nice on internet.
Indeed the area is nice, pools are ok and staff is friendly but during our entire stay we did not perceive any sign of luxury at all. Rooms are very modest and need urgently to be renovated. Food is ok but very average. Staff has no experiences of luxury hotels at all.
There is no activity at all for adults. There is nothing to do except going to the pool and the Spa.
This hotel should be 3 and maybe 4 stars maximum but does not deserve 5 stars at all. For 800 Eur a night it is probably the worse value for money we have ever experienced. Is not worth more than 250-300/ night.

Utterly luxurious, peaceful and beautiful. Fantastic near-deserted beaches and sea-water swimming pools. A range of restaurants each with top class service. Tastefully-decorated rooms and suites with breathtaking panoramic views. Gorgeous gardens. Heaven.

The hotel has a wonderfully natural environment, quite un-resort like. The family suite was, spacious, tasteful and finished to a high standard. However, room service is awful, one member of staff hung up explaining they don't speak English. Thankfully the consistently poor standard of English and worse attitude was an isolated incident. Food was good but lunch choices were underwhelming and limited - a problem given the remote location and ridiculous cab fare to the nearest town. Being fussy the sand on the beaches is very coarse but the water is beautiful if very cold in June. All in all a lovely experience though and a useful kids club.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Resort Valle dell’Erica. The Resort of your dreams. Valle dell’Erica is situated to the north of Palau, on the borders of the National Park of the Archipelago of La Maddalena, right opposite the fascinating uninhabited island of Spargi. It is situated 4 km from the charming village of Porto Pozzo, with its small tourist port and shops and just 12 km from S.Teresa di Gallura, a well-known tourist destination in northern Sardinia facing the Straits of Bonifacio. The first part of Valle dell’Erica, the first tourist village constructed in Sardinia, was built in 1958 (a period when it was still possible to build a few metres from the sea) by the owner of the valley, a pioneer of tourism in Sardinia. Thanks to the fascination of the area and the high quality of the structure built – indeed it received a special mention from the President of the Republic – Valle dell’Erica during the sixties became a very stylish, sought-after venue, and indeed numbered princes and kings among its guests. In 2005 it was completely refurbished by Delphina which by showing respect for the splendid natural environment surrounding it and thus in harmony with the style of the original village chosen by its founder, transformed it into a resort equipped with all modern comforts, the aim being to offer something which has become somewhat rare, that is the emotion of a truly natural holiday (as in days gone by) but also in an exclusive setting. The Resort can boast of a truly unique, unrepeatable position, a few metres from a splendid white sand bay and rocks moulded by wind and weather, in natural scenery which is among the most beautiful in Sardinia. Thanks to its extensive spaces, privacy is always guaranteed, and its numerous small bays accessible on foot, its romantic rooms with panoramic verandas, the warm atmosphere of its Thalasso and Spa Center and the services offered by its skilled staff, ensure it is a true oasis of relaxation and pleasure for couples. The Resort is also an ideal choice for family groups; indeed it has large, secure green and garden areas where the kids can play without disturbing the adults, a large, well-equipped mini club and a splendid kids’ pool. Apart from the beauty of the sea and the breathtaking views, it offers an exceptional sea water pool just a few metres from the sea and an outstanding Thalasso & Spa Centre. After dinner, in the Resort’s Plaza, there are entertaining shows with live music and various different events. ... more   less
