We were looking for a restaurant for Sunday lunch, on a day trip from Palermo to Segesta -- and selected Ristorante del Golfo based on the excellent reviews on Gambero Rosso, Slow Food, and TripAdvisor. We had a superb meal -- excellent warm octopus salad and marinated shrimp for antipasti; fantastic bucatini with anchovies and spaghetti with clams for primi; and a beautifully prepared whole sea bass in salt for secondi (The "decomposed" cannoli for dessert was okay but not great - why mess with a cannoli?!). We really liked the owner (a young guy who grew up in the town and bought an existing restaurant 2 years ago and is extremely serious and attentive) and the crowd (mostly Italian tourists and local families). A little pricey, but that is usually the case with a serious fish restaurant. All in all, we thought this was a very enjoyable meal and stop, and would unhesitatingly recommend it.
