Turismo Rurale Casale Aversa

We stayed here for about a week and had a wonderful time! The location is perfect if you want to explore the beaches of lo Zingaro, the restaurants of Castellammare del Golfo, the Tempio di Segesta and even San Vito Lo Capo and Selinunte are easy to reach.

The owners are extremely helpful and nice - they'll do whatever it takes to make your stay pleasant. I noticed someone 'complaining' about the lack of outside seating. Well, all you have to do is ask. We got excellent sunbeds and spent entire days sunbathing in the amphitheatre.

The food is mostly homemade (and so is the wine) and I can only emphasize with how much care and love to detail the owners approach everything from breakfast to room cleaning to organizing rental cars to giving helpful advice on how to explore the area, etc, etc.

Long story short: stay here. Not only for one day. Make this your base to explore Western Sicily. You won't regret it.

This is a family-run farm house near Castellammare del Golfo. By car it is easily reachable from Castellamare (about 2 km), it is not far from Segesta and the Zangaro natural reserve. Location is convenient for exploring all the Trapani-Golfo area, Erice and Palermo are also about one hour drive. The room we got was spacious and clean, roomservice every day. On the negative, there were some centipede-like insects on the walls and ceiling, since it was a bit damp inside. The shower with the curtain is also not the most convenient one. The mini-theater in the front is nice for sun bathing, and the view is pleasant (you don not see very much of the sea, but the surrounding hills are nice). Breakfast was quite good, with home made jams, and some local products and the view from the canteen is very nice. Owners are nice and helpful.

I think for what it offers this place now is a bit overpriced, you might get half-board for a similar price, but overall it is definitely an Ok place as a base for exploring the region.

We really enjoyed staying here. We had half board and the food was good, and our GPS found the property with no trouble unlike some of the other places we stayed. If I had a misgiving it was that we were unable to sit outside, the weather was beautiful and we would have preferred more access to it. This is a minor factor though and we would stay here again without reservation.

We went for a cycling trip to Sicily in the middle of June. For the first night after we left Palermo we stayed in the Casale Aversa. The place was so lovely that we decided to stay also the second night there.
The place has been opened this year so every thing was clean and new. The place itself was hard to find and in the end the owners came to pick us up and show the way for the last couple of km.
We ate the best italian food while staying there! (And we have traveled a lot in Italy before). We got the recipes for some of the foods to try and make at home. The owners were really friendly and helpful and the whole place beautiful. It was the best agricultural home where we stayed during our two week holiday(we stayed only in agricultural homes and chanced the place every night).
