“Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2014

This was our first stay at a Springhill Suites and we stayed here whiled visiting family in the area. The room had a two doubles and a sofa couch in the desk area. Nice refrigerator, microwave and cabinet space for food. The room was clean and comfortable and well suited for our family gathering. The property is fairly new and the television was excellent. It had a large closet area and I liked how the tub and shower were separated from the sink. I thought this hotel was a good value and would definitely stay here again. The breakfast was good and well prepared.

Stayed here for one night for college visits. Checked in at 1130pm and the reception staff was very nice and efficient. Room is good sized and good wifi. The breakfast choices were good and healthy, if you want (ie, fresh fruit, oatmeal and hard boiled eggs).

But I am giving the hotel only an average rating because of the noise. The walls are paper thin and I was woken up at 2am by a family next door -- and they were just speaking loudly. This is a hotel design flaw. Also, the garbage pickup was outside our window at 6am was quite loud.

In sun, the hotel is a good value, but our stay was marred by loud noise.

I have mixed views on this hotel. It was my first stay at a SpringHill Suites by Marriott. If you compare to a Residence Inn or Embassy Suites, it does not score well. The rooms are much smaller, with very little room to walk around (tough with little ones) and the other "room" is just an extension of the same room with the beds with one TV that will turn to either the sitting area or the beds for viewing. There is a very small sink in the sitting room with a microwave and small refrigerator. Certainly not appropriate for a prolonged stay. The furniture was fair and is starting to show wear, but that's would you get with cheaper items. That being said, this hotel was clean, had an indoor pool and hot tub that was well maintained, had a nice breakfast and the staff was friendly. I'm guessing Marriott wanted to offer a cheaper offer in the "suites" category of hotel. Even with a large number of soccer players in the hotel for a tournament, the staff was able to maintain a nice environment, keeping the breakfast area full of food and helping my young ones with the waffle maker. I would stay here again, but only for short stays and knowing what I'm getting for the price.

Our stay was short, but enjoyable. Everything you would expect from a brand new hotel. Nice, clean, comfortable, free parking, wifi and breakfast. Decent continental breakfast. The mini-suite was nice, although a couple of cons: 1-TV only in the sitting area, 2-bathroom small, 3-the sofa bed was less than comfortable, 4-Bathroom door wouldn't close properly and 5-Can't get the alarm clock to be set at the right time, so what's the point? Nevertheless, at that rate this location would most likely deserve 5 stars, if it weren't for the few points above, especially if it is for a short stay.

We stopped here on the way back from Florida. The property is in nice shape -- everything seemed new. We liked the easy road access. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The set up was a little odd, but I suppose it would work best for someone who wanted to separate sleeping from living. Everyone on staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fine. We did not use the pool or the spa area, though there were other people using them.

This hotel is on the same side of the city as the Museum of Fine Arts, to which we were headed, so it worked out quite well for us. Marriott properties apparently have a discount for seniors over 62, which we only learned about on Trip Advisor. We booked from my I Phone on the way over and took advantage of the discount.

5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2013

We stayed here for a Friday night in November 2013. We were here for the state volleyball championship, and it ended up being a great stay!! It had easy access to downtown Richmond, where the games were held, and it was very close to Short Pump, which is a huge shopping/eating hotspot. There are so many restaurants and shops! We did not have time to explore it all, but we enjoyed driving around!

The hotel's rooms are incredible! They are suite style, so there is a living area with a sleeper sofa with the beds on the other side of the half-wall. There is a TV in the middle so that both the bedroom area and the living room area can see. There was also a nice desk in the living room area and a small kitchenette as well. The bathroom was very clean, and there was a nice closet on the bedroom side. Most importantly, the room was very clean!!

There is an indoor pool and outdoor patio as well. The indoor pool (with a hot tub) is pretty small, but it serves the purpose. There is a small fitness area next to the indoor pool area as well.

The lobby area is very nice! There is a TV with a lot of tables and some lounge furniture. There are also 2 computers and a printer available too. There is a free continental breakfast in the morning. The breakfast wasn't the best one we've had in a hotel before, but it was fine. (There is a Cracker Barrel next door if you don't like it!) We really liked the coffee/hot chocolate bar they had near the continental breakfast area. It is available all day!

Overall, this hotel was great, and the people were very friendly! It is a small hotel so it isn't as spacious as some other hotels, but it was such a clean, nice and comfortable stay. You can really tell that maintenance and housekeeping take a lot of pride in keeping this hotel nice. I think the hotel was built a couple years ago, but it seems like it is brand new! Great stay and a great price!!

The customer service was Great! The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It was quiet. The hotel has a new feeling. The hotel is located in an area that has ample shopping and places to eat just around the corner.
