“Nice outing on our getaway.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

We visited Richmond recently for a wedding. We ended up getting to town hours before the wedding was set to start and drove through Carytown on the way to the wedding. When we found out we were super early we decided to "go back where they was paintings on the wall". We found a spot put on our sneakers and just walked. There was food, shops, art and locals (I LOVE LOCALS!). It was a very nice way to kill time while waiting for the wedding to start. Would highly recommend on a nice spring/summer day.

“Pleasant street of shops, but that's about all”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

After visiting Richmond's interesting historic sites, my friend and I found Carytown underwhelming. It's simply a street lined with small shops selling clothing (both new and used), decorative items, etc. There are plenty of places to eat. If you're hoping just to while away a bit of time, the area is fine, I suppose, but there's nothing particularly notable about it. It could be any place where there are five or six blocks of shops in a row. We wouldn't return if we were to visit Richmond again.

“great family outing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2014

Have been coming here since the mid-80s, and have never been disappointed. The last time was with my mom and aunt, we had so much fun. . . ate at the Galaxy and shopped at Bygones and World of Mirth + 2-3 others. Awesome memory.

“Always a lot of fun.....much to see and do!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

This area of Richmond is a lot like Old Town, Alexandria.....has a lot of restaurants and shops. It's a great place to take visitors if you want them to experience a little bit of everything. Great for walking around and browsing, too!

“Great shopping and dining area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Best place in Richmond to visit for a spot of shopping and fine dining. Many good options from Chinese and Thai to Mexican and French. Nice eclectic collection of shops and the historic Byrd Theatre make Carytown a must see location in Richmond.
