“A wilderness park for city dwellers.”
Reviewed 13 May 2014

Not difficult to get to although it has several areas for parking. Parking is really bad especially when it is nice outside. It is a truly neglected area, not made for "a day in the park" but more like a bad time in the wilderness. No amenities, no shelters, no restaurants, no parking, lots of rather out of control youngish people, and the city seems to rather want to give the river front away to developers rather than build a nice park here.

Maybe we just got the location wrong but this riverside walk was just not what we were expecting. Very scruffy in parts, no nice waterfront cafes etc - we ended up in a noisy bar with a flyover just next to us as we were desperate for a drink.

“James River”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

I love the James River from the rivers beginning West of the Blue Ridge Mountain in Virginia and then flowing East to Hampton Roads in tidewater Virginia. Walking along the banks of the James River is fun and a excellent way to spend a day hikeing along the mighty James steeped with history and views of the rapids and wetlands to explore watching the wildlife.Dont forget your camera and take pictures of a fun time along the James River in Richmond, Virginia .

“Belle Isle - Fascinating”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

I loved Belle Isle. It had the coolest hiking and biking paths and bridges and both war and industrial history. It's also great that it's open til dusk so there's something to do between museums and dinner! I would highly recommend this. There is parking near the Virginia War Memorial - if you wind up going on the bridge that goes over it, you'll miss it and can park on the 22nd street side (beware the drugs and loitering teens on that side!) Very cool all around!
