Owner description: The White House and Museum of the Confederacy are located in downtown Richmond's historic Court End neighborhood, just a few blocks from Capitol Square. Guided tours of Jefferson Davis' executive mansion leave from the Museum lobby throughout the day and typically last around 45 minutes. Three floors of exhibits in the Museum chronicle the war years through the personal belongings of Confederate leaders like Robert E. Lee as well as those of common soldiers and citizens on the homefront.

A good part of the past of Richmond is when was the Capital of Confederacy and this museum is THE one which bring you inside the war, the flags, the generals, the militias ,the poor and the rich people, the braves . Park at VCU , validate ticket at museum and think about the absolute importance of this war for the future of USA. Go

This museum is put together very well. The items on display are amazing and are set up in a good flow for visiting. The Confederate White House was worth seeing as well. To be able to see that part of history as it was back during the Civil War was very interesting and our guide was amazing in his knowledge. Highly recommend if you're a Civil War buff.

This well done museum chronicles the Civil War with photos, artifacts and nicely written historical accounts of all the battles. Parking on the street is impossible, so as you're coming up Clay street, be sure to take a left into the large parking lot that services the hospital also. The museum will validate the parking, so it's free to you. We arrived too late to go through the White House, but I recommend you plan enough time to take in both the museum and the White House.

We had a great time at the Museum of the Confederacy. We parked at the VCU Hospital (free parking on weekends) and a short walk (one block) the museum. So, if you want to park close by, park there. We got the combo ticket the take the 40 minute tour of the Confederate White House (no pictures inside). The Gettysburg exhibit closes in September, but that is well, well worth it. We finished completely in about 2 1/2 hours.
