Writing this review at 4am. Our room felt like an oven when we arrived yesterday at 5pm. Turned on AC immediately and set at 65 to try to cool it off. Before bed still warm, turned AC all the way down, and as I said it is now 4am. It's cheap! I guess you really do get what you pay for.

I stayed at this hotel during my visit to the States. It was ok. The hotel seems to be under major remodeling, so I would expect it to be better by the next time I visit. I stayed 2 nights. For the price paid, the accomodations were good.

horrible!! even though I read previous reviews of roaches and unclean I gave hotel benefit of doubt. several issues: elevator dirty, the first room they gave us beds were not made, 2nd room black dirt in bathtub/toilet dirty, 3rd and final room roaches everywhere. I called price line and canceled reservation. Had to find nearby hotel Extended Stay very clean and smelled great and great receptionists. Next time I will adhere to previous reviews.

Room Tip: ask to view the rooms before you make a reservation.

Stayed at Quality Inn West End Aug. 15 and 16, 2012. We have stayed here three times before since 1999. We keep returning because the hotel is a good value and kept up well. On this trip we were surprised to find a Panasonic digital TV in the room with a good-size screen as well. We had a spacious room with one king size bed which was comfortable. The room also had free Wi-FI (which I used) and a microwave and a frig.
I was quite impressed with the wide choice of foods available for breakfast as well as how attentive the attendant was in making sure all choices were kept available. They offer some hot choices such as waffles, sausage and eggs.
There was a problem at check-in in that the card key would not open the door to our room. The problem was quickly resolved by giving us another room.

We have stayed here many times in the past. This time it was two nights, and the first night our room was really bad - lights that didn't work, bugs, loud hinges on the bathroom door - a long list of things that just weren't right. In the morning we talked to the desk clerk and he offered us a different room, which we accepted. This time the room was wonderful - clean, comfortable, in good shape, and everything worked as it should. The desk clerk, Melvin, is a great asset to the company; he cares about doing things right, cares about the customers, and is well-spoken. The lady who is in charge of breakfast has been there a long time and is always friendly and helpful. Would we stay there again? I'm really not certain at this point. I must say that what started out bad ended very well. And the location is very convenient for us. If you stay there, make sure they don't put you in room 512 until they have refurbished it!

Room Tip: Stay away from room 512!!! (based on 7/30/12 stay)

After not being able to get a room at my original destination because of storms that hit West Virginia, and power outages, we had to travel another 255 miles to find a hotel with rooms available. I am a dedicated Choice Hotel member, and picked this hotel at random from the Choice hotels in Richmond. When we finally arrived at approximately 12 midnight the hotel was sold out, so I was glad I called ahead, I was told the room they had reserved for me was still dirty from previous tenants, one of the girls working found me a room. Upon entering the room it reeked of cigarette smoke, but I was willing to accept that even though I reserved a non-smoking room at the full rate, all we wanted to do was get a good nights sleep after traveling for over 15 hours. At 1:45 we were woke by someone trying to get into our room, luckily I had pushed over the latch and it held, the person knocked after realizing the latch was locked and someone was in there. I looked out the peep and recognized the night security guard who was at the desk when I checked in, I asked what he needed without opening the door, he told me no one was supposed be in that room and that I needed to call the front desk. I was more than a little upset with this event and thanked him for waking me at 1:45 am. If I would not have latched this door and he would have just just barged in waking me from a deep sleep, I would have protected myself first and asked questions later. I called the front desk and the girl apologized, but I was upset and my wife did not sleep a wink the rest of the night. The next morning at checkout, I told the person working what had happened, she apologized and said she would give me the room at no charge, but the manager, Jackie Griffin, would have to make that call, and that she, the manager, would be calling me that day. I never heard back from her. I will be writing a formal letter to the ceo of Choice hotels about my incident. I understand, "stuff" happens, but as far as I'm concerned there is no excuse for what happened, i feel like the room should have been free or at the very least a major discount with a call from the manager. Save yourself some grief and find another hotel.

Room Tip: find another hotel if you want a good room.
